I'm all for a warmer climate. It's too darn cold where I live.

That's because the Clinton years were like so peaceful and serene (Cue Disney music and animated characters)

"...the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change "concluded" that global warming is real and caused in large part by human activity."
PURE BUNK. That report DID NOT "conclude" anything. You'd think these people would know better.....well, maybe not!

While they are at it, they can just pass a UN resolution declaring that global warming doesn't exist and solve the whole problem.

Some guy was lecturing to a local radio talk sho host about how that an atmospheric temeprature change of just 2 degrees would cause coral to die couldn't explain how a the coral survived the many ice ages and warming cycles.

Environmental activists are calling on Mr. Ban to play a leading role in the process of negotiating a successor to the Kyoto agreement, which expires in 2012.
That name cracks me up. :)
So will this tax be paid by *all* nations? And for countries that won't pay, what happens? 100% tariffs on all goods and services from them?

Why didn't Clinton push for the Kyoto protocol ratification, if he is so concerned about this?
I think he knew it would be suicidal for the economy and his presidency to do such a thing and I am sure that he knew that he could refuse to sign it and in a few years no one would remember.

*shakes head* The hubris of these folks is breathtaking! They really think that just by SAYING SO, they can control the temperature of the world?

Liberals ARE proposing to raise taxes? I was expecting this. If they weren't, it would have been entirely out of character of them. Its heartening to discover the libs we know so well are back!

Taxing the temperature. That's the ticket. If that doesn't stop it, nothing will.
Why is my head hurting?

I have an idea. Why don't we tax people based on their individual electric usage? For example, if someone uses more electricity in one month for one home than the average American uses in a whole year, we should tax his socks off.

Clinton knew that by his ignoring Kyoto and the rest of the issue, no one would care--and he could use it later to bash his successors if they didn't play ball with him.
