A truck exploded Saturday as worshippers left a Sunni mosque in a city in a volatile area west of Baghdad, killing at least 35 people and wounding 62, local police said.
The blast occurred about 3:30 p.m. in Habbaniyah, 50 miles west of Baghdad, after prayer services at the mosque, which is adjacent to a police station, police officer Abdul-Aziz Mohammed said.
Habbaniyah lie between the cities of Ramadi and Fallujah in the insurgent stronghold of Anbar province.

This is where my son was stationed in Iraq in 2004-2005. I am thankful that he is out of there but I pray for all our military men and women in the area and I am hopeful that the surge will work.
Savages!
...and trucks.
Trucks kill...literally!
Why do they allow truck (vehicles) into these densely populated areas?
Whenever they have an event where they want to increase security, they always prohibit vehicles. Then when the event is over, they open it back up to vehicles.
Is that so the killing can resume??
"No Name" city? Habbaniyah It's in the SECOND sentence
"Can we all agree if muslims and christians (and their agnostic parasites) don't find some common ground for dialog, the future is suck.
The issue pertains more between muslims and jews, than muslims and christians, although jews or christians they're all infidels to the muslims.
Damn. Barbaric savages.
That's a great point.
Article says it's most likely an al Qaeda on Sunni attack.
It's outrageous that we don't have things like this under control.
You cannot stop hatred, only contain it.
How can the Surge be failing if it hasn't started?
The Israelis have managed to clamp down on terrorist bombings. Why can't we??
These people are just sick.
Reminds me of the lawyer joke, "What was the reaction to a boat sinking with 1000 lawyers on board? Not enough lawyers!"
Considering that I have kept track of the numbers of dead Iraqis by bombs, this number is very, very low for a truck bomb. Also this might sound like a very harsh assessment.
Before the idea of the surge it seemed to be 100 Iraqis killed, then it became 50 and now a truck bomb kills at least 35. Even though that still is a good amount of dead iraqis, it shows that there is a good amount of progress.
maybe Sadr leaving and the consistent string of bombings have gotten Iraqis used to noticing what to do and not die. Or maybe we could just ban all trucks in Iraq right now, but that is still a lot more progress than before. All in notice to indicate that "maybe" we are winning and not losing. Of course, I have always believed that we are, but the Media doesn't believe so.
I stated in an earlier post the situation would stabilize if the Christian west firmed up it's faith and the Muslim east lost some of it's. One is asleep at the switch and the other is a little intoxicated with the easy successes it's had due to the former's condition. I owe my life no doubt to the law and lessons defended by the folks of Jewish faith but the political reality is today they rely on Christians for support and defense. Personally for the reasons stated, I am one who says defend to the death so no problem there. I wish I could say there's no racial/ethnic component in all this. I guess that's the only part that makes a person stop and say whoa. Obviously we got to where we are today through a combination of destruction and charity. To say the solution to every intercinal problem is destruction would not be Christian. We all belong to the family of man.
