Israel is negotiating with the United States for permission to fly over Iraq as part of a plan to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, The Daily Telegraph can reveal. To conduct surgical air strikes against Iran's nuclear programme, Israeli war planes would need to fly across Iraq. But to do so the Israeli military authorities in Tel Aviv need permission from the Pentagon.
A senior Israeli defence official said negotiations were now underway between the two countries for the US-led coalition in Iraq to provide an "air corridor" in the event of the Israeli government deciding on unilateral military action to prevent Teheran developing nuclear weapons.

SICK EM.
GOD HAVE MERCY ON THEM. GRANT THEM GREAT EFFECTIVENESS.
And give us the cajones to support them.
Conformal tanks on the shoulders?...impressive.
Not true
"From 1983 on, the Boeings began to carry out midair refueling of fighters, thus lengthening the IAF's range. Their ability as refuellers exceeds even that of the Hercules. The Re'em participated in several of the IAF's long range strikes, including the raid on PLO headquarters in Tunis. In 1991 six of the planes took part in Operation Shlomo, for bringing Ethiopian Jews to Israel."
"After the (Yom Kippur) war, the IAF ordered additional C-130H planes. These were delivered between May of 1974 and November of 1976, and included several KC-130H midair refueling models."
I would think that if this were real....that it would not be in the media anywhere.
That said, I'm here in my corner rooting for Isreal.
Iraq to the west, Afghanistan to the east, and our Naval presence in the Persian Gulf to the south. Iow, the U.S. is in a far better position to deal a crippling blow to Iran's nuke facilities than is Israel, who'd have a much longer trip (flying over several Arab countries) requiring a massive refueling effort. (Iran's nuke facilities are spread out over their entire country). In addition, we have the superior weaponry.
If this is going to be done it's going to be done by the U.S.
All said, I don't see what Israel can do aside from provoking iran and the rest of the ME then help us clean up the mess. All they could "signifigantly" do is nuke the nuke and missile sites. Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.
I love your tagline!
It is being reported because even in the highest ranks of the pentagon you have stooges that want the defeat of Israel.
You also have stooges that want the U.S. to fail in the mid east.
The fact that we are reading this tells me it's hogwash. Maybe I'm wrong, but we'll see.
Which Rag country will give them permission to overfly their territory to get to and from Iraqi airspace? Syria, Jordan, or Saudi?
Syria's been beggin for a woopin for awhile. Israel has what...like 350 f16's?

Oh I can easily imagine some CNN reporter doing it - "Wolf, we're here at the Israeli air base, and those jets you see on the runway will be taking off in a few minutes to fly to Iran and drop bombs on their nuclear site at Natanz. They will arrive at their target at 8 pm. CNN has obtained a copy of the top-secret order signed by President Bush giving them permission to fly over Iraq."

TO: Mr. Olmert
Dear Mr. Olmert,
We have considered your request to fly over U.S. occupied territory in order to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities. We find your request to be insulting, and demand that you keep your air force grounded. It is OUR desire to blast Iranian nuclear and military facilities to smithereens, and our attack will be underway by the time you receive this memo. We like mixing it up with the mullahs and don't need your help at this time.
W.
