"And we know this, because many of us have actually worked, for decades, on political campaigns."
Which other liberals have you campaigned for?

You refer to Buchanan and Keyes and it's apparent you fall into that category that finds some conservatives 'extremists'. So because I don't like Buchanan or Keyes, I am now accused of finding some conservatives extremists? Oh, brother.
Your earlier post to me made it apparent that you are intent on just making stuff up out of whole cloth.

That government is best that governs least. I certainly agree with that, except when it comes to our urban areas.
In other words, blacks shouldn't have guns.

Sorry, I'm just dense. I don't get it. If it were me I would just post where I got flamed to prove my point. Best of luck to you.

That add ( made by the NAACP ) was about a man being dragged by two cretins, when President Bush was GOVERNOR! The men were caught, tried, and jailed. The add wanted to smear the president, because he hadn't demanded that the perps be slapped with a "HATE CRIME". It was silly, because tghey perps wouldn't have gotten any more time, if it had been tried any other way.If I recall correctly, at least one of those scumbags was put to death, which made the NAACP's ads even dumber.

Thank you for posting back! Now, did I read elsewhere here that McCain and Julie-Annie have backed out of this debate? I think so.

Don't try to put your racist words in my mouth. You are disgusting. Please realize that I'm not trying to paint you as a racist. I do feel, however, that there is an underlying bigotry when people are comfortable restricting God-given rights to certain classes of people. The urban areas are where the 2nd Amendment is needed the MOST!

My point in the post your responded to was that urban areas actually do require governance. Nothing more.
Rural areas tend to manage quite well without a whole lot of government affecting the residents.
As to gun control for dense urban centers, I can understand the argument for it, but it's a misguided argument. For one thing, it doesn't work. At best, it disarms the law-abiding citizens.
I'm glad you've demoted me from being racist to being a mere bigot. I don't accept that, either, but progress is often measured in inches.

I do feel, however, that there is an underlying bigotry when people are comfortable restricting God-given rights to certain classes of people. Dianne Feinstein, a liberal, a case in point.
You have veered into intriguing territory here, intriguing because I live in L.A. And, in spite of all the drive-bys, gang activity, etc., I agree with you.
Sadly, as long as voters of any color or ethnicity continue to vote for Democrats and liberal Republicans, we will ALL lose 2nd amendment guarantees, not just the po' folks in the 'hood.

Like I said, Keyes and Buchanan could be outrageous and oftentimes were but you have NO CASE in comparing Hunter to them. I'm afraid you missed the point. Since you weren't here in those days, Peach was merely pointing out (and I was trying to explain to you) that many of the more vocal Hunter supporters here supported Buchanan and Keyes.
While I'm not a Hunter supporter (but would be if he got the nomination) he is miles ahead of both Buchanan and Keyes by simple virtue of the fact that he's actually won an election.

Yes, I believe that BOTH of the guilty men were sentences to either death or life without the possibility of ever being let out; I'm not certain of the exact sentences.
But the NACCP's specious ad, was just for "show". Even if it HAD been tried as a "hate crime", there would NOT have been a change in the sentencing, which of course everyone who made the ad knew.
