An Open Letter to the Iranian People

The following letter will be sent at the end of March 2007 to all news agencies in Iran, to international agencies in the Persian language, and to Iranian government officials. Copies in English will be forwarded to major international news agencies and leading Western media and to various government offices around the world.

We, the undersigned, turn to the Iranian people and its leaders out of a sense of concern for the fate of the entire region.

PLEASE NOTE!

Your leaders are leading you on a dangerous collision course with the nations of the free world, that may lead to a mortal blow on your people and country as well as to a total regional chaos.

Your leaders repeatedly threaten Israel and call for its extermination. Your regime finances terror throughout the world and crudely violates the sovereignty of other countries via emissaries such as Hezbollah and Hamas.

* President Ahmedinejad is leading a disgraceful and monstrous campaign under a bogus academic disguise, which defames the memory of the 6 million Jews slaughtered in the Holocaust. Through his conduct he is seen as a derisory and repellent figure by the world’s nations and confers upon Iran the image of a racist, and ignorant country, which disseminates hatred and is bereft of elementary human values

* Your regime strives relentlessly for military nuclear capability. It seems that your leaders do not shrink from measures that could lead to the deaths of thousands if not millions of your people and others

I think the Iranian people already know the position they are in, and put in by their "leaders." I know LOTS of Iranians and not ONE supports their government...and these are Iranians who still spend lots of time in Iran.

This is not meant to diminish your idea, rather to state that they already know which is a good thing.

And everything that Iran does is ALWAYS a Christian issue! Ask the Lebanese Christians and Bosnian Serbs, both of whom have been impacted by Iranian proxies. And ask the relatives of those US Marines who were blown up in Lebanon by Iranian proxies in the early 1980s.

I guess my vague hope would be that if it gets enough exposure, aka international, via news organizations, perhaps they (western media) will get a clue when it comes to the threat WE face along with the Iranian people. The international press has been a bit too dry in their reporting on this matter, and it is a matter that has underlying passion and obvious profound consequences, and should be reported and viewed as such.

That's right. We have our own beefs with the mullahs. Israel can handle its own business, I should think. Ahmadinejad's rants are nothing but a distraction from the real acts of war against the United States the Islamic Republic and its Supreme Leader have yet to answer for, starting with the storming of the US Embassy and leading all the way up to their current meddling in Iraq. As far as I'm concerned, we're already at war with Iran; our government simply refuses to recognize that fact as yet.

And I think it bears repeating that we as Americans are making a mistake focusing on Ahmadinejad, who is nothing but a stooge and mouthpiece for Ayatollah Khamenei, the true ruler of Iran.
