You've hit the nail on the head MrB......very well written. We will always support our troops, and especially from the "enemies domestic"...and they will not deter us. Thank you, ms b, for sharing this.

I wish I could just take time off when things like that come up.
During World War One there was not a lot of emphasis on enticing women to join the military. Nurses were the principal focus in terms of recruiting. The Navy and Marine posters using Howard Chandler Christy illustrations of women in uniform were designed to recruit men, not women. Many of the posters inviting women to join were simply printed messages saying they were needed and listing an office address. In spite of "low level" recruiting over fifty thousand women accepted the challenge and served America both in uniform and with civilian agencies in WWI.
