Giuliani's problem with the religious [large graphics]

Posted on 02/18/2007 4:12:23 PM PST by Jim Robinson

I don't know about you, but I doubt the Christian conservatives throughout the red state farm belt and especially down in the South are going to cotton to a liberal New York Yankee coming down to try to clean up crime by taking their guns and bringing abortion and gay unions (gay marriage) into their families, schools and churches.

It had nothing to do with pot holes, but protecting the good citizens of NYC from vicious, blood-thirsty criminals.

Mission Accomplished thanks to Rudy.

2008, the South has become more conservative and will not vote for Hillary or Osama.

Neither will they vote for someone who, by his own admission, shares most of their policy points. You do remember a guy named Ross Perot, don't you, and the votes that he got on the strength of nothing but discontent? What makes you think that having alienated so many core voters that the GOP won't end up third in 2008?

Your post #125 is worthy of the most devious boiler-room DU 'Rat operator. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Is there anything there that isn't true? Or are there extenuating circumstances you know about? Otherwise, I can't see the problem with posting facts about a candidate - are you saying we shouldn't have access to this type of information?

And he has already pledged to appoint justices like Roberts and Alito. I don't see him backtracking on that.

Knowing what you know about Hillary, if Giuliani was her opponent in the general election (god forbid) and Hillary decided to run to the right of him (not hard) and SAY a bunch of stuff like she supported all aspects of the War on Terror, would protect the 2nd amendment, would make tax cuts permanent and bring down government spending, would work to ensure a more limited government, and would appoint justices like Roberts and Alito to the Supreme Court - would you believe her? No. It would be obvious that she was saying all that to appeal to the most voters in order to win the race she was in. And that is exactly what Giuliani is doing now as he makes statements that fly in the face of everything he's done and said throughout his entire political career. Don't be such a sucker.

Another good one.
I was ready to resume painting until Jim posted this thread. Needless to say I cleaned everything up until tomorrow.

Now who's going to be the third-party candidate with a bazillion bucks to draw away conservative votes? Mike Bloomberg?

The South will vote Republican in 2008 if Rudy is the nominee and the Dem nominee is Hillary/Osama.

Cute. And Rudy locked up the homeless, too. Any other Democrat talking points?

Hitlary, OTOH is a doctrinaire Marxist who believes in shoving her policies down your throat at any cost, consequences be damned. She is reckless, power-obsessed, and has a dictator-top-down-what's-good-for-you complex. Its no accident that her Marxist college thesis is still embargoed and the College refuses to release it 37 years later. She learned her craft at the knee of one of the most radical agitator-Marxist college professors whose whole teaching purpose was to instruct his radical students on how to best infiltrate the political system to effect Marxist atheist change

So in your opinion, Rudy will not do these things because he wants to be re-elected but Hillary will be happy being a one-termer?

Rudy is ever bit the authoritarian and statist as Hillary except he would be more effective.

Not only is Rudy pro-abortion, but he acts as if Margaret Sanger, PP's founder, who ESPECIALLY wanted minority and poor peoples' preborn babies to die, and started her evil work in NYC, is something to be proud of.

As Delivered

Thank you very much for inviting me to say a few words of welcome. This event shows that people of different political parties and different political thinking can unite in support of choice. In doing so, we are upholding a distinguished tradition that began in our city starting with the work of Margaret Sanger and the movement for reproductive freedom that began in the early decades of the 20th century."

I lived in NYC at the time and for Rudy did for the city, he should be given 1,000 gold medals.

...or thirty pieces of silver. ;^)

Remember the Warren Court? Where did judicial activism begin? With granting more rights to suspects. Rudy is a law-and-order type. He will not appoint a judicial activist, but a strict constructionist.

Tragic. Beyond tragic. "Genocide is the highest sacrament of Socialism" High Priestess Margaret Sanger would be pleased.

Yes, the nearly 50 million dead in America is Sanger's legacy. She was a contemporary of Hitler's and the holocaust she helped set in motion makes Hitler look like an amateur. He started his genocide and the whole world came down on him. The genocide happening in this country has the front running presidential candidates in both parties as long time supporters.

Giuliani even praised Margaret Sanger:

In doing so, we are upholding a distinguished tradition that began in our city starting with the work of Margaret Sanger and the movement for reproductive freedom that began in the early decades of the 20th century. As a Republican who supports a woman's right to choose, it is particularly an honor to be here.
