If these Dems had been at The Alamo...us Texans would all be speaking Spanish today as the official language not just as an extra one.

Next Friday, February 23rd (my 52nd birthday, BTW), marks the 171st anniversary of the beginning of the siege of the Alamo.

I was born in Texas, though raised in New York, but I've always thought of myself as a Texan.  Going to the Alamo during a family reunion several years ago was one of the most emotional experiences I've ever had, after the birth of my children.

We need to remember and celebrate those patriots along with the ones at Valley Forge, Iwo Jima and Omaha beach (including my dad) and 1,000 other desperate battles.  They are why we are free now.  And to a man they would spit on the traitors in Congress and the media today.

Ernie Pyle and even lefty Edward R. Murrow would spit on them too.

It sounds to me like you want Pres. Bush to get into a "sound bite contest", or a spitting war with the anti-war crowd in the Congress.

Not only would it not be portrayed "fairly" on the MSM...it would take Pres. Bush out of the "grown up" catagory...down to the "cry-baby" catagory that the dems, the MSM, and the White Flag republicans are.

He has FAR too much other worries and work to do than get into that kind of fight..and I daresay that if he DID..and it went the way the MSM would make SURE it went..

YOU would be the first to be on these thread complaining about his "failures".

Don't American public schools teach this basic stuff, anymore?

Nah. The main concern of the education establishment is "sensitivity" to diversity issues. Teachers are evaluated on how "sensitive" they are and how empathetically they present issues in a "multicultural" environment.

Tears? Thanks.

The Daytona 500 is on in glorious HD, so I must leave now.

Nothing like a good wreck in 1080p, baby!

I totally agree with your Post, the way the Diaper Clad DBM is today they are so partisan and so anti War that they sold their souls, and do not have to cover the President on much of anything. That is a big reason why he often visits areas specifically so that the local News Media will cover their visit. To most local Stations the President in Town is the thing to cover, and he does it well, but he cannot do it 365 days a year which he would have to in order to counteract the Slams, Negativity, Pro Rats reporting of the DBM.

With Dubya, he is no longer inspired by 9-11, he's demoralized by the November elections passed, he's jumping through ropes to please the OTHER side, he's failing to lead, he fails, as always to communicate.

Sad. Because I thought once upon a time he would go down in history as one of our greatest presidents. It's that famous Bush lack of self-defense that's going to cost us this war, yes it is.

I believe that you are wrong about our president.  Do not let despair inspired by our enemy's propaganda capture your thinking.  Remember, they've misunderestimated President Bush before and have regretted it.  He believes in what he is doing and he is keeping on keeping on.

Aren't you making my point?

My point is that when a small group of people who work together move and speak with a unified voice they can meet their goals. And I was giving examples of people doing things with no more than the power of their voices. When you have the president, his administration and people his administration controls along with a Republican congress you should be able to do damn near anything.

The president and the Republicans did not use their power as they should have. When they did use their power they used it to spend money like crazy and pass stupid things like McCain-Feingold with which the president added even more foolishness by signing. During this time the president didn't even veto anything that was spend happy.

This isn't my fault or anyone elses here.

I've been involved in local politics where there was a sea change. The conservatives took over local government that had been run by moonbeam leftist snots for decades. Once power was in hand that power was used and is being used. Tax rebates, better and more sensible handling of money, no more handing out taxpayer money on silly things, etc. The eye is on the people that pay the taxes. The instant these newly elected folks forget that we will hammer them. THAT'S what those of us did wrong when Bush and the Republicans were spending money like drunken sailors.

The Republicans still have not learned anything. When the Democrats stated this non-binding resolution the Republicans should ALL have been saying "we are spending "X" millions of taxpayers money on this" and in the next breath they should have been talking about the 100% outlawing of earmarks. Say the same thing over and over.

Free drugs, billions to Africans, more health insurance crap, etc, etc. The Republicans are fools because you can't tell them from the Democrats anymore.

Technically being employed at CIA is classified and employees have some form of "cover" job at some other federal agency or a cooperative business.

It's interesting that you should say that. Sometimes when I had IT classes in the DC area there would be some CIA employees in the class. Their employer (the CIA) was listed in the student roll just like the employer for all the other students. When I asked two of them how it was working for the CIA, they weren't up tight about it or anything - they said it was like working for any other bureaucracy - there was no concealment or "cover."

My granddaughter is 7...and she was watching Nickolodean this morning.

They had a Barbie commercial..and she looked at me and asked me "what is so great about Barbie, I just don't get it?"

I had to LOL...she is far too smart for her age sometimes.

I think you are referring to this

President George W. Bush places his hand on a large stack of legislative earmarks as he addresses the employees at Micron Technology Virginia in Manassas, Va., Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, on the economy and fiscal responsibility. President Bush voiced his concern about earmarks being slipped into spending bills saying, “If Congress is genuinely concerned about spending your money wisely, and I believe most members are, then, they must do something about earmarks.” White House photo by Paul Morse

Your post was great up until the last part where you said something totally opposite of the way you were previously going. You tell the Conservative Media to straighten up and fly right because they have screwed things up, and then you appear to give up just like a few others on Freeper threads. This is no time to give up on anything. Spring is coming.....We must keep up our attack on the Rats all four Seasons. On to Victory....

I heard a Dem ditz woman on one of the talk shows the other night...and when the GOP (Hannity?) host said that the the resolution was non-binding, and if the Dems had really wanted to make a stand they should have made it binding with cutting funds included.

Well..the dem ditz' comeback was, "If this non-binding resolution is so worthless...then why were Prs. Bush's aides ALL OVER THE CAPITOL TALKING TO THE POLTICIANS"...

IOW...Between Pres. Bush's "advice" to Congress in his speech about the necessity to fund the military completely...and him sending people to Capitol Hill to make sure they get the message..

I would say he is doing far more than he is getting credit for.
