What part of Republicans voted NO can the DNCmedia not grasp? A YES vote is a vote to end debate!!!!!!
Gadzook. We were taught about cloture in 4th grade social studies. "How a bill becomes a law," etc. Don't American public schools teach this basic stuff, anymore? Apparently not. But just ask 'em about putting condoms on cucumbers.
great point Dog! I'm still reading the same posts today that I read days, weeks and months ago....nothing changes for some and never will...get involved, do your duty and vote, make a difference...actions always speak louder than words
Bush just lets it ride on by and now we've got the Dems OPENLY speculating on how to cause our military a slow bleed.
Bush alone versus the dems? What about the rest of us? Clinton did the same. But Carville, Penneta, Lany Davis, and a hundred more were there every second with a pro-Clinton, anti-Republican sound bite, and full of piss, vinegar and fire, too. Where are ours?
On the initial cloture vote a few weeks ago, 46 Democrats and 2 Republicans voted for the Democrats. 1 Democrat and 47 Republicans voted against the Democrats Iraqi Resolution. AP, which is the primary new source for both Published and Broadcast news, ran their story as "Republicans block Bi- Partisan Iraq Resolution" No matter what happens in DC the US "News" Media will simply censor out any facts that do not validate their preconceived political dogmas.

Fishtalk has a suggestion for you.
We are a house divided.
Its ridiculous, especially when I we have to do to EVENTUALLY get everything we want, is to shutup and vote to win.
I learned more about government watching Schoolhouse Rock (I'm Just A Bill and others) as a kid than I did in class. Really.
Yes, 1988 his VERY LAST State of the Union he did that.
Fine, those are the circumstances, but your ABSOLUTE statement that he NEVER attacked them directly is disproved. You make valid arguements just don't make absolute statements.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He never went out and attacked them directly. .... but he NEVER went directly head to head an attacked the Congress leadership on a personal level ...
Bingo.
CSPAN had it up wrong as well. Go figure.
In American politics this is not the fault of anyone else but the ones that have the place, the power and the opportunity to fight back. If the aformentioned people cannot overcome the noise generated by the MSM with the assets they have then they have simply done a bad job. Especially in this age of new communication platforms.
Remember when there were conservatives at screaming during the ballot issues in Florida? What about "Sore Loserman"? "Get out of Cheney's house"? Or what about the Swift Boaters?
All these things were done by a small group of people determined to change things. Usually with no help from the administration. So I'm not agreeable to the notion that people with all sorts of tools at their disposal can't get themselves organized to get their messages out.
Thank you PD...you speak for a lot of us!!
Question: Why is this on the net?
amen Dog....
A tornado strikes without warning. A hurricane gives much time to prepare and to leave. New Orleans did neither.
Will keep you posted on the Ramos-Compean transcript. It is harder to read than your hyperlinks. No...it's not that hard!
