"Slam his opponents??? Bush is the CIC. He needs to respond forcefully to attacks on the troops and the mission in time of war. The House resolution gives aid and comfort to the enemy. Can you imagine HST responding like Bush did in his latest press conference?"
Actually I'd be embarassed if any President reacted as you want this one to.
Again...that is the job of the Reps and Senators on the Hill to respond like a rabid Rotweiler.
And after a brief foray into CNN Headline News I find meself cringing at Glenn Beck's hysteria on every single topic.
Nothing worth watching other than Brit...on any channel at all.
radioguy, thanks I'll pass that on.
Just Let Them Win, Dammit!
Don Surber reminds us of a few Democrats who broke ranks with their party and did the right thing, they voted for victory. No more talk of defeat and "lets just cut our loses and go home" kind of talk. No, they understand that our troops need our support, not empty cheers as they are stabbed in the back. Check out this video of Representative Jim Marshall from Georgia, a Democrat, who understands this all too clearly:

OMG for a quick second I thought that was a real headline, until I saw the 'price' of the paper, LOL! :)
Amen.
I love how the Dem leadership stands with a banner of "Honest Leadership Open Government", but everything about this resolution is underhanded and behind the scenes.
Great post and letter. I hope for future primary challengers there and here. We do need to support upcoming conservatives better, and especially in primaries.
I am sorry but this caricature of Reagan the Talk Radio Generation worship NEVER existed. It is a complete fabrication of revisionist talk radio hosts
Reagan spent a WHOLE lot of time kissing the Congress clowns butts. He never went out and attacked them directly. He attacked big Govt. He attacked tax and spend Liberalism but he NEVER went directly head to head an attacked the Congress leadership on a personal level the way the "politics as a sporting event" talk radio fans around here keep screaming for Bush to do.
Why? Because Reagan KNEW he had to work with those people in Congress. That his ONLY tool was persuading them to send him the legislation he wanted.
I know the Talk Radio Generation simply will refuse to listen to the facts that do not validate their emotional whimsy but the Reagan you all so feverishly idolize NEVER EXISTED. He is a total fabrication. A Myth. A make believe construct of rather stupid Talk Radio Hosts.
Don't know if you caught Odom on Hewitt, but you have to check this out:
Odom's Razor

Go to www.townhall.com
Go to Talk Radio, Hewitt and go listen to the interview, this general is clueless... clueless.
agreed Morgan.....I love what Rudy says about non binding resolutions....Congress is elected to make decisions a non binding resolution is not a decision.....of course this is a paraphrase not a quote....the President understands that as well....that's what the soundbite should be....and it's bi partisan!
"Our troops are counting on their elected leaders in Washington, D.C. to provide them with the support they need to do their mission. We have a responsibility, all of us here in Washington, to make sure that our men and women in uniform have the resources and the flexibility they need to prevail. "
That is just so idiotic. The term "red eye" has referred, for years, to late night events because that's what the late flights, particularly from west coast to east coast, have been called. For a newspaper to sue a television channel over a name that the newspaper ripped off from the airline industry is asinine. Oh, and the Tribune had trademarked the name, but only for a newspaper, not a TV show or anything else.
And the analogy the newspaper columnist tries to draw
You might recall that when Fox News announced it would be calling its new program "Red Eye," this column wondered how it would feel if Tribune launched a "Hannity & Colmes" edition.
stretches credulity. To even remotely come close Fox would have to call their show "Chicago Tribune's Red Eye." What will they sue over next? A morning show with the words "morning" in it? They're morons at the Tribune. Truly morons.
I have a friend who is a senior executive at a major airline. I think I'll suggest he has his company launch a suit against the Tribune for infringement. Better yet, I have another friend at Boeing. Since "red eye" originally referred to airplane flights they may have the original rights.
Of course, I have filed for a patent on zero and one. Once I get that I'll sue everyone that has ever done anything with a computer. Bwhahahahahahahaha!
Thanks. Is anybody doing a website covering the various fascist Islamic attacks around the world? The last I heard there were over 80 countries with various forms of violence going on.
historically, the battle at the Alamo was leaders knowing they would die but needed the battle so San Jacinto could be reADY FOR A SURPRISED Santa Anna.
History shows the Alamo battle was awesome in strategy and self sacrafice
The media continues to lie about the war. Congressmen continue to lie about this war. The majority of people in this country vote for the congressmen who lie about the war.
The President continues to prosecute the war and in fact goes against all of the lies.
Your point-of-view deserves no respect.
Well put, Johnnie. Our MBA President knows Result Matters in the end.
Good point. Thanks for the reminder.
