Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:

MEET THE PRESS (NBC): White House press secretary Tony Snow.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sens. Joe Biden, D-Del., and Richard Lugar, R-Ind.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann Romney; actor Michael Douglas.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : White House press secretary Tony Snow; Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; magician Penn Jillette; former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele; and Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League.
Same here. ABC Radio news is about the worst at this.
Example: A positive story out of Iraq...when we killed 300 down in Basrah.
ABC News will give one 5-7 second clip of someone speaking favorably and two 10 second sound bites about why it's still a disaster.
Plus you have to listen to the way the stories are written. You can put an entirely different twist on a story just in how you phrase one or two sentences.
If Bush had gotten a little anngry and passionate in response to the question, it would have sent a message to the American people and Congress as well. By passively accepting the House Resolution as just a difference in opinion, he has emboldened the Dems to increase the stakes down the road.
I am a long time lurker and new to being registered to reply. I have always enjoyed my morning coffee with this thread. Once Brit leaves I do not know if I will watch any TV news at all.
At least Juan (sans his politics) seems like a really nice person unlike some others that we have to endure.
Not to mention that Sam Houston started his attack in the early morning catching many of Santa Anna's troops sleeping, killing them in their beds.
Oh the humanity of it all, slaughtering men in their sleep......../s
As a conservative Catholic, please give me some good examples! I need to try the same.
The members of the President's party are supposed to be his 'warriors' in the House and in the Seante.
Unfortunately that seems to be lost in the too clubby atmosphere there.
I keep dreaming of the day when I see and hear on C-SPAN, the following...
Yes, now I yield my time to my friend, who I believe is in opposition to the resolution, the honorable representative from New York, Congressman Gambini.
Rep. Vincent Gambini, R-NY
Everything that guy just said is bulls**t... Thank you.
I agree completely.
What our fellow Republicans forget or don't know that the Libtards revel in...is that the Congress Critters are the attack dogs for the President.
When Clintoon was in power...all you saw was the Democrat House and Senate members in front of the camera...in the well on the floor...talking to reporters pushing the Presidents agenda...lashing out at his critics and "correcting" the record.
They Rats have that down to an art form. When there man is in the Oval Office...they are out there on point beating the trees ahead of him and clearing a path.
If the Republicans could and/or WOULD learn to do the same thing we wouldn't be having HALF the discussions about this President that we do today.
Hell I seriously doubt Reagan could get through half of what he did for this country with the current crop of Republicans we have on the Hill.
Exactly... can you imagine after going through the hounding all these years in the middle of war on two fronts and witnessing the dems do this?
That's why we have senators and representatives. They should have (and should now), be pointing out every single hypocrisy and lie as soon as it leaves dem lips. As far as the DOJ/AG, papers should have been served (and still should), and investigations started re: leaks. We've lost the Swift program because of this... if that's not sedition and treason, I don't know what is.
Tony Snow knows better... he has the more resources than he could use in a lifetime. He's busy, but he knows where to find info.
I have to conclude a lot of these folks are directly paid by CAIR as well as socialists... it's the only explanation, it doesn't make sense. Trust me, i'm digging too.
They never have anything to offer themselves, because it's never in their interest to have solutions....only issues. If/when they do have a Dem in the WH, they'll still have nothing to offer. The standard line at that time will be something like, "Bush made this such a mess, we can't implement any of the plans we had." Naturally, we'd never be told what those "plans" were.......
Oh I want to live long enough to see that day myself!
I see the press hasn't learned the lesson at all... and got worse. Pravda indeed. Let's remember what the buzz was on September 10, 2001.
"Will anyone oppose him in the primary? I really don't want to see al franken in the senate - that would really be a joke!"
I don't care if Al Franken's in the Senate. I've got freaking al-Ellison for a Congressman, an empty skirt for a senator, before that I had a glassy-eyed drug addict for a senator, and I have a 3-stadium-promoting governor who's been sucking up to McLame for two years. Normoron has sealed his fate. He's a one-termer and should not even expect to survive a primary challenge. He'll be able to hold his campaign rallies in a phone booth.
Loyalty begets loyalty. The WH went against the vast majority of its own party in its support for comprehensive immigration reform. The WH should have supported Sensenbrenner and the Reps in the House on their enforcememt first approach. Instead, they were called nativists by the WH. The Senate Reps voted 32-23 against the Hegel/Martinez/McCain/Kennedy comprehensive immigration reform bill. Now Mel Martinez is the new RNC chairman.
Bush and his team have made a calculated decision that the DNCmedia are not going to have a soundbite of him slamming Democrats. He thinks "wouldn't be prudent" because that soundbite would become the rallying cry for every democrat in the country for the next two years.
The diplospeak that he goes through to avoid such a soundbite is excruciating to hear because we are rooting for him to get aggressive but it ain't going to happen.
The WH press corps have given up on getting the "what is your worst mistake" soundbite from him, but that took years for them to let go. Now they are salivating for him to slam his opponents, so they can use it against him. Also when he speaks, his words go out to the world, including Ahma nutjob, Lil' Kim, and OBL if he is still alive. He is POTUS not the head of the RNC - who by the way has anyone ever heard of - Michael Duncan?
Part of his speech was:-
"Our men and women in uniform are counting on their elected leaders to provide them with the support they need to accomplish their mission. We have a responsibility, Republicans and Democrats have a responsibility to give our troops the resources they need to do their job and the flexibility they need to prevail."
Again I bet that has not been reported by the MSM
Welcome as a poster we hope that you will continue to participate in the thread
Yup. Ramsey Clark would be preparing indictments for the Texan war criminals.
