With Dubya, he is no longer inspired by 9-11, he's demoralized by the November elections passed, he's jumping through ropes to please the OTHER side, he's failing to lead, he fails, as always to communicate.

I don't believe President Bush is demoralized or inspired either way.  It drives eveyone nuts but I continue to believe President Bush is doing exactly what he said he would do for the reasons he gave.

As much as I'd love to see President Bush get more agressive over this issue I don't think that will happen.  President Bush & Co don't have that "attack gene" in their makeup.  This lack of defending himself is one reason why Republicans in Congress have seemed to abandon him and continues to upset our base. (We want to go on the offensive.)

What I would like to see is for all these so-called Republican candidates on our side start attacking Democrats today, showing leadership now and not waiting until next years election.

###### Fox News Sunday lost 30% of it's audience since Chris Wallace took over. Fox just replaced FNS's producer with Matthew Linder (until recently produer of “On the Record With Greta Van Susteren.”) as FNS's senior producer. [memo to Fox: it 's not the producer stupid!].

Thanks, Anita. Once again, your observations and research is eye opening. This particular one on FNC is huge and makes me question the decision makers at FNC. Not seeing the forrest for the trees comes to mind, or is it more sinister, such as a liberal mole in charge? A 30% loss is HUGE!

You know who dead wrong the sports media can be with it's predictions? Those reporters at least will acknowledge when they're proven to be dead wrong. The same can't be said of the inside the beltway crowd with their predictions.

He can corect them all he wants to Fish..but at the end of the day...it is the Media that controls what the people hear during the next news cycle via how the story is written...the soundbites they use and the other people interviewed for the story.

So unless you see what he says "live"...you will never truly know what the President said or didn't say thanks to the fifth colum in the DBM.

MNJ that's how ALL the reporters there work.

They're more concerned about making it to the 10am buffet at the Palestine Hotel than they are reporting what is REALLY happening in Iraq.

Senator Levin, and by inference the rest of the Democrats, have decided the war is lost in Iraq. No matter what they will not admit the possibility of victory. Besides that they cannot even give thanks to the President for negotiating a multilateral North Korean effort.

The Democrats have politicized foreign policy. For better or worse issues of war and peace will be the principal debate for 2008. The party that can make their case clear to the American public will achieve overwhelming victory.

It is time for us to enjoin the conflict with patriotic fervor. If this war is lost, we will begin a long retreat and dissolution and be replaced by one or more of the emerging Asian tigers.

Chris Wallace and Fox News Sunday did a good job interviewing Senator Levin. Thanks!

Here in Denver, the Power Player of the Week signals the moment to switch back to FNC. Usually, Liz Trotta is on at that time and she is great.

Great post MN. If the Conservatives would stop playing, he's not as conservative as me game we might have a chance. Fact is, nobody is as Conservative as me which makes me unelectable. So I have to find things I like about people who are less conservative and more electable.

Fact is, the war on terrorism is the only issue that matters right now.

No doubt they'd have also decried Houston's "troop surge" at the battle of San Jacinto.

They have been killing Americans for some time. Marine Barracks in Lebanon, Khobar Towers, and funding and arming terrorists worldwide.

That comment from Chris' panel reminded me of a conversation members of my family had shortly after 9/11

My lefty brother made a comment about it being the first time Americans being killed by the terrorists

My other brother .. a retired Marine .. who normally doesn't talk politics, chimes in an said .. Americans have been being killed by the terrorist for years and gave the list you just did .. then said, know one every paid attention because those killed were military and to some, they don't count them as Americans

It was a slam to my lefty brother .. though I'm not sure he picked up the hint .. he thinks he knows everything

Yes, I had a rather extended exchange with his office leading UP to the vote. They simply were SO convinced of the brilliance of their strategy they simply did not want to hear from us peasants. This is my final note to him. I have gritted my teeth and defending him from quit a bit of abuse directed at him by Conservatives here at the grass roots level in MN. No more.

You have to compromise in politics. I understand that but at some point the compromising has to be end and principals stood for. This vote went beyond compromise to out right surrendering to the Left. May as well be a Democrat in that seat.

Bush has had his opportunities to respond to what the Dems are doing, including at his last Press conference, which is covered extensively and hard to filter. Specifically, this is how he responded to what I would call a large, softball right down the middle of the plate:

Q: Mr. President, it seems pretty clear where this Iraq vote in the House is headed.

BUSH: Yes.

Q: Your press secretary has said repeatedly that members of Congress ought to watch what they say and be concerned about the message that they're sending to our enemy.

I'm wondering: Do you believe that a vote of disapproval of your policy emboldens the enemy?

Does it undermine your ability to carry out your policies there?

And, also, what are you doing to persuade the Democratic leadership in Congress not to restrict your ability to spend money in Iraq?

>BUSH: Yes, thanks.

A couple of points _ one, that I understand the Congress is going to express their opinion, and it's very clear where the Democrats are, and some Republicans. I know that. They didn't like the decision I made.

By the way, that doesn't mean that I think that they're, you know, not good, honorable citizens of the country. They just have a different opinion.

I considered some of their opinions and felt like it would not lead to a country that could govern itself and sustain itself and be an ally in the war on terror, one.

Secondly, my hope, however, is that this nonbinding resolution doesn't try to turn into a binding policy that prevents our troops from doing that which I have asked them to do.

That's why I keep reminding people _ on the one hand, you vote for David Petraeus in a unanimous way; and on the other hand, you say that you're not going to fund the strategy that he thought was necessary to do his job, a strategy he testified to in front of the Senate.

I am going to make it very clear to the members of Congress starting now that, you know, and they need to fund our troops and they need to make sure we have the flexibility necessary to get the job done.

Secondly, I find it interesting that there is a declaration about a plan that they have not given a chance to work. Again, I understand. I understand.

Q: Do you have to support the war to support the warrior? I mean, if you're one of those Americans that thinks you've made a terrible mistake that's destined to end badly, what do you do? If they speak out, are they, by definition, undermining the troops?

BUSH: No, she actually asked the enemy, not the troops.

But I'll be glad to answer your question. No, I don't think so at all. I think you can be against my decision and support the troops, absolutely. But the proof will be whether or not you provide them the money necessary to do the mission.

And I said early in my comment _ my answer to her was that _ somebody who doesn't agree with my policy is just as patriotic a person as I am.

And, you know, your question is, you know, valid. I mean, can somebody say, We disagree with your tactics or strategy, but we support the military ? Absolutely. Sure.

The President had an opportunity, I daresay an obligation, to point out that such a resolution would be aiding and abetting the enemy and undermine the morale of the troops. How can you ask someone to put their life on the line and have the House of Representatives pass a resolution that opposes an increase in troop levels and rebukes the President's [CIC] actions?

The Libtards in D.C. would have called for the removal of Sam Houston as Commander of the Texan Forces and the impeachment of David Burnet because Houston dared to attack a "vulnerable" and "unaware" Santa Ana while he and the Mexican Army were at siesta.
