He should have said, "I hate Bush." Nothing would have happened to him.

the reverberations from his remarks sparked immediate outrage by the gay community. He was labeled a bigot and a homophobe.
Is "labeling" the only weapon these freaks have?

No FedGov office punished Hardaway, private business has a right to do what it pleases.

They're liberals. And no one offends them. But your feelings aren't hurt if you get labeled "a homophobe" and "a bigot." That just comes with the territory. But liberal victim groups like gays are beyond criticism.

Hardaway is baned for words, but Sprewell only gets a year suspension for chokling his coach. Yeah, that's balance.

Mr. Hardaway just learned a valuable lesson; he is not on the top rung of the PC ladder. If he were to look up, he'd see that the person on the step above him is wearing rainbow bloomers and has a lot more power and influence then him.
Reggie White certainly learned this leeson; unfortuantely the rest of black America continues to be used by these freaks for their own gain.

He should have said, "I hate Bush." Nothing would have happened to him. Well, he may have received a Grammy.

So? Why do "they" have all the power? Because nobody came to Hardaways aid, thats why. Nobody hunted the decision makers down in this case and got in their face. They did it with impunity, which only strengthens their hand to do it next time.

I'm glad Hardaway spoke out on this. Homosexuality is the elephant in the room in sports.
To: AmericaTalks
Now that gaydom has achieved the status of victimhood, we need a test before we just accept someone's word that he is a member of this newly protected class.

He should have said I hate Christians. Then Edwards would have hired him.

My lord . . . are you folks really defending this silly man's words? I for one am not defending what he said, and I doubt it if most others here are doing so. What I am frustrated with is the hypocritical reaction of the left in regards to a person's 'rights' to say what they want.
The left was up in arms at the response to the Dixie Chicks comments and bestowed a much undeserved Emmy on them.
These are the same people that then force through public pressure the NBA to remove this man from NBA related activities.
They can't have it both ways (but they do).
I am unclear as to why you seem to deny that argument and assert our comments as a defense of what was said.

It's his opinion, what right do we have to disallow it?
