Did any Dems vote in favor of the troops?

Yes, Jim Marshall (D-GA8), and Gene Taylor (D-MS4).

You are at least marginally better off with Shays than I am with DeLauro in this district.

I wonder how some of the GOPers defeated in '06 would have voted. Like Nancy Johnson.

Thanks for the links, I have just called everyone of them and told them that what they did today was disgraceful, disgusting and bordering on treason.

On truly critical votes, the CT RINOs almost always back the President. Not on other stuff, but on really big things, they're there.

She looks like a crazed woman.

I mob'd at Camp Shelby in his district and the people there would not tolerate anything different. I hate the 'rats, but I respect Taylor for this (Marshall as well).

Ron Paul, (former R-Texas) is a Presidential contender, or at least he was till today. I'm ashamed to call him my Representative.

Re: marshall and taylor

These are times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.

No. Many of the democrats supported the war when they thought they would lose elections if they opposed it. Now that they have majority poll support, they oppose it.

Ron Paul has always opposed the war for a principled, but wrong, reason. He did not vote no because of political expediency.

I'm not surprised that his aide sounded like that. I live in Jacksonville, NC, the home of Camp Lejeune MCB and the 1/6 Marines, many of whom are currently serving in Iraq. This county has been very good to Walter Jones and has supported him in his congressional campaigns. I was listening to just a few minutes of a local talk show on the radio on my way to choir last night and heard several callers vowing to never vote for him again.

The show is actually broadcast from a station in Carteret County, and Rep. Jones had apparently been on the show earlier in the afternoon talking about the resolution. Jones's father previously held the seat as a Democrat and at least one of the callers said that he thought that his action is just a preliminary to his changing his party affiliation back to Democrat. I don't think he will do that because he is conservative to the point of almost being reactionary. He, at least, is more honest than many of those who voted for the resolution because, although he originally voted to support the war, he has been talking about bringing the troops home for over a year.

Be that as it may, I think that this time he has gone too far and is in real trouble. I don't think that he could be beaten by a typical Democrat, but he could certainly be beaten in the Republican primary or in the general by a conservative Democrat.

that we had no security obligation that directly effected our country to justify starting a war with Iraq.

Paul is another jerk on the wrong side of history.

Al Kada threw alot of exploding human resources into getting us out of Iraq. They have been damaged big time.
