Ever since Move America Forward learned that radical anti-war groups were mobilizing to dishonor war memorials in Washington, D.C. we decided to launch our national "THESE COLORS DON'T RUN" patriotic and pro-troop caravan.
Tired of all the negativity from the anti-war crowd? Tired of them attacking our military, our nation, and the missions our troops are serving in?
Had enough of all the "if it bleeds it leads" reporting from the news media where at times it seems they WANT bad news to report about our troops in Iraq?
Well if you feel this way - and if you want to do something positive, uplifting, patriotic... something that shows our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan that we truly support them, then join us for this historic and incredible effort.
We start off on Thursday, March 8th in California and then we move across the nation, ending up in Washington, D.C. for a giant patriotic rally on Saturday, March 17th.
Supporters from all across the nation will be coming to meet us to join the caravan at our pro-troop rally stops all across the nation. [Incidentally, the caravan is being led by some outstanding individuals who will serve as spokespersons for the effort including Blue Star Mother Deborah Johns, whose son William is serving his THIRD tour of duty in Iraq; Gold Star Mother Debra Argel Bastian whose son, Derek, died in Operation Iraqi Freedom; Gold Star Father Joseph Williams whose son, Michael, died in Operation Iraqi Freedom; and John Ubaldi - a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Other VIP spokespeople will be helping to lead portions of the caravan and we will be releasing these names little-by-little as momentum for this event builds!]
The ones who can't join us for the caravan (and we hope everyone can tag along for at least PART if not ALL of the journey to D.C.) will bring flags - homemade flags, or store bought flags, or flags of special significance - to these rally locations. We'll then bring them to Washington, D.C. where we will put them up in a giant sea of American flags of different shapes and sizes.
It will be a wonderful spectacle of red, white and blue.
We'll take pictures and send a placard with a picture and a write up with each flag donated to the effort to our troops who are serving in either Iraq or Afghanistan. They'll be able to see for themselves first-hand that a growing movement in America is speaking up to say: WE WILL NOT LET THIS BECOME ANOTHER VIETNAM WHERE OUR TROOPS ARE DISRESPECTED.
So we need to get word spread throughout the nation - start making those flags. Sew a flag. Knit a flag. Paint a flag.
Have children get involved in this effort, it will make a wonderful school project!
You can send flags directly to our headquarters when they are completed (so we can have some flags to show off to the media and rally attendees at our first few stops). Send the flags via U.S. mail, UPS, Fed Ex, or similar delivery service to:

We'll be posting a map of our planned route for the caravan along with an itinerary of our trip. This way you can plan where to meet us, or perhaps line the route with U.S. flags and patriotic signs. We'll need help spreading the word, so please pass this note along to everyone you can! Tell talk radio hosts about our plans, and tip off your local news media as well.
At the conclusion of this giant, cross-country caravan, pro-troop rallies and the granddaddy patriotic event in Washington, D.C. we'll cap the whole thing off with a press conference with the national media unveiling our new Move America Forward ad campaign that conveys the message: SURRENDER IS NOT AN OPTION and WE WIN IN IRAQ... OR FIGHT THE TERRORISTS IN AMERICA.
We'll be needing to raise a lot of money to fund the caravan, the rallies and then buy the airtime for the pro-troop TV ad campaign. As you can see though, it's going to make a giant impression on this nation, and we're so excited about it all!
