This killer ( I will say terrorist) is a Bosnian so he does not know Arabic except for some muslim prayers which are recited in Arabic even by muslims who do not speak Arabic, they just memorize it.

I do not believe that the tape contains "Allahu akbar" which is pronounced with a particular accent. The fact that he probably did not speak Arabic is not relevent, since all Muslims would know that Islamic chant.

It sounds like "Allah Akbar, Allah Akbar" to me, but I was told what to listen for. It sounds just like it always sounds right before some idiot self-detonates.

Since the breakup of Yugoslavia there has been officially a Bosnian language--I've even seen a Hippocrene dictionary in a bookstore of "Bosnian." They may have encouraged more use of Turkish loanwords than you'd find in Serbia or Croatia. But it's probably mostly the Muslim part of the population that uses the term...the Serbs of Bosnia would call their language Serbian and the Croats would call theirs Croatian.

The three are close enough that Milosevic, Izetbegovic, and Tudjman didn't need interpreters at Dayton.
