The Communists in England irritated George Orwell as well. He was disgusted by the Soviet Union and British Communists' unwillingness to concede any wrongdoing on the part of Uncle Joe Stalin.
British Socialists would denigrate the US and UK (during WWII) while never saying anything critical of the USSR.
It is a mental disorder. They are unhealthy for the success of the nation. Like junk food, a steady diet of their spew can have long term detrimental effects.
