Tim Hardaway: 'I Hate Gay People'

cbs4.com

Feb 14, 2007

(CBS4) MIAMI Former Miami Heat superstar Tim Hardaway told a local sports radio show that he “hates gay people.”

Hardaway made the comments while he was being interviewed by Dan Le Batard on 790 the Ticket Wednesday afternoon.

The five time All Star was asked how he would deal with a gay teammate.

“First of all I wouldn’t want him on my team,” said Hardaway. “ “Second of all, if he was on my team I would really distance myself from him because I don’t think that’s right and I don’t think he should be in the locker room when we’re in the locker room.”

Le Batard took Hardaway to task, pointing out that his comments were “flatly homophobic” and bigoted, but that only seemed to stir up the former point guard.

“Well, you know, I hate gay people,” Hardaway said in response to Le Batard. “I let it be known I don’t like gay people. I don’t like to be around gay people. I’m homophobic. It shouldn’t be in the world, in the United States, I don’t like it.”

Hardaway’s comments come on the heels of a groundbreaking revelation made by former player John Amaechi, who became the first professional basketball player to openly identify himself as gay.

Amaechi became only the sixth male atlhlete from one of the four major American sports (NBA,MLB,NFL,NHL) to admit he is gay.

Former NFL running back David Kopay , offensive lineman Roy Simmons and defensive lineman Esera Tuaolo just recently came out.

Glenn Burke, an outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Oakland Athletics in the 1970s, and Billy Bean, a utility player in the 1980s and 1990s, have also come out.

No player has ever publicly admitted to being gay while currently playing for one of the four major American sports.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I have. It depends on how they behave. If they act like silly girls, I wouldn't want to be around them; but that hasn't been my experience.

Well, I disapprove of sodomy by straights or gays. That's not very strange. Guys kissing is a stomach turner, too.

You asked why homosexuals on average die around age 40. A survey was conducted analyzing obituaries from 16 homosexual newspapers/journals, along with 2 mainline newspapers to determine some facts. 6,574 male homosexual obituaries were analyzed along with 140 lesbian obituaries. The best source of obituaries was the Washington Blade, a weekly tabloid published for the homosexual community in Washington, D.C. The survey found that the average lifespan of a male homosexual who dies of AIDS is 39. The average lifespan for a male homosexual dying of other causes is 41. Only 9 percent of the homosexual males lived to be 65, as opposed to 73 percent in the male population as a whole. I won't give the details of causes of early death for these people, but the following account for higher than normal early death rates: violence in the homosexual community leading to murders and suicides; accidents, in particular motor vehicle crashes. The rest of the deaths were from other causes, mainly complications normally happening to heterosexuals at much older ages: cancer, liver failure, diabetes, heart attack, and hepatitis. It is suspected that the heart attacks may be due in large part to excessive drug and alcohol use. A survey in San Francisco indicated 31 percent of homosexuals were addicted to drugs or overused them. You can get more details from the book The Gay Nineties by Dr. Paul Cameron or another good book called Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth by Jeffrey Satinover.

That survey was taken in the 70s. What is the average age of homosexuals who die of natural causes today?

Homophobe isn't a real word. It's one of those cultural Marxist clubs invented by the likes of Howard Zinn.

After writing the above, I discovered that homophobe isn't even in the spell checker. Try it.

I think God teaches us to love all, but I can understand why someone might bash the life style of gay's. And truly be repulsed by the gay life. Can anyone really agree with what they do to each other. Think about it.

"A PHOBIA is not a hatred. A phobia is a FEAR."

Your definition is technically correct, however "Homophobia" is neither a fear, nor is it necessarily hatred. It is a rhetorical device used by liberals, secular humanists and homosexual advocates.

It's purpose is to suppress the opinions of those who do not agree with homosexual lifestyle. It is a way to oppress intellectual discourse.

The word hate has been hijacked like the word gay.
My 1860? dictionary says hate = extreme dislike.
I can have a extreme dislike for something or someone and still be mature and respectful.

"deviants" ought to be "sodomites" who are frequently disease bearing pedophiles.

I tuned into my local sports station today and it was open season on Tim Hardaway on DC's "The John Thompson Show".

What was most amazing is that almost all of the callers who phoned in did so to speak up for Hardaway and his point of view. I'd say that a majority of them were African-American and more than a few began their calls by proclaiming their faith in Jesus Christ, and while they felt that Hardaway may have made a poor choice of words (hate), many supported his point of view that homosexuality was simply wrong or unnatural.

Coach Thompson and his staff took the callers to task in a number of ways; firstly focusing the entire issue on Hardaway's quote, while not addressing the cause of the discussion - the Ameachi book - he also turned the old trick of asking if Jesus hated homosexuals and disingenuously asking where it was stated in the Bible that homosexuality was wrong. Finally, Coach Thompson turned the topic into a civil rights issue, with his sideman comparing people who were not accepting of homosexuality to Nazis in the holocaust.

It was tiresome to listen to. Thompson missed the whole point of the callers being fed-up and frustrated with homosexual advocacy. I don't think this was incidental though. I felt that he and his show mates were simply carrying water for the PC police.

Dan LeBatard, from what little I have heard of him, is a real left wing ass. It would have been fun to hear how he dealt with this.

The radio station WIOD put up a poll of the remark and it is much in Tim's favor!

If you agree with Tim go to www.wiod.com and cast your vote!!

Should be interesting to see after many FReepers done it!!!

The above supports Rush Limbaugh's thesis that the sports media is as leftist as the news media.

Not only that, have you not noticed suddenly all the babes that is reporting on men's sporting events (P.C.???)!

Even on George Michael's "Sports Machine" show late Sunday, he has a babe on taking over his "slot-machine"!!

Feminization is certainly taking roots in men's sport, soon they all will be in the locker rooms as well!!!

GSWarrior, it's possible due to AIDS drugs that the average lifespan of people affected by AIDS has increased somewhat, but it's hard to imagine, given the physical filth associated with the lifestyle, that homosexuals have attained anywhere close to the same longevity rates as heterosexuals.

Since about 80% of homosexuals admit to the unsanitary practice of rimming, which results in the ingestion of feces, it is not unreasonable to conclude that health would be ill affected whether we're talking about the 70s or today.

Besides, if survey dates are that important, then it's ironic that homosexuals so often cite the very old 1948 "10 percent of society is gay" statistic from the oft-disputed Alfred Kinsey study.

Of course, there are many later studies continuing to show high disease rates amongst homosexuals.

As of 1992, a whopping 83 percent of U.S. AIDS in whites had occurred in homosexuals. This, according to "CDC HIV/AIDS" Surveillance dated February of 1993.

A Seattle sexual diary study reported that homosexuals had, on a yearly average: fellated 108 men and swallowed semen from 48; exchanged saliva with 96; experienced 68 anal penetrations; and ingested fecal material from 19.

Sorry. You asked.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control reported that 66 percent of the hepatitis A cases in New York in the first six months of 1991 were among homosexuals.

I'm not sure if he actually meant that he hated homosexuals. Personally, I have no hatred for homosexuals. I disagree with their lifestyle and behavior and their desire to force people to accept what I believe to be immoral. I'm not "homophobic". There really is no such thing as "homophobia" anyway. It is a word made up by liberals and the homosexual agenda to attack those who oppose what they believe to be deviant and immoral lifestyle decisions.

It seems that a lot of people may feel the same way based on the poll and the "The John Thompson Show". Unfortunately, the mostly leftist media panics when they see people aren't supporting the liberal agenda. That seems to be why they pulled the poll on the CBS web site.

"he also turned the old trick of asking if Jesus hated homosexuals and disingenuously asking where it was stated in the Bible that homosexuality was wrong."

Jesus loves everyone, but he doesn't tolerate immoral behavior. It does say in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong in both the Old and New Testament.

"Finally, Coach Thompson turned the topic into a civil rights issue, with his sideman comparing people who were not accepting of homosexuality to Nazis in the holocaust."

Wow! I've never heard that comparison before.

Tim Hardings of course apologized, but I wonder if he'll be encouraged go to the same type of Thought Police Camp that the Grey's star went.

I heard the quote. I think Hardaway genuinely made a mistake in choosing his words. It seems to me that he was simply venting the frustration which I believe so many people are experiencing nowadays - and as I posted in my rant on reply 54 of this thread.

10 years ago we didn't even have to put up with nonsense, such as "gay marriage", now we are having such policies forced on us without so much as a referendum.

The last time that someone asked me if I believed if 2 men could marry each other I simply stated "no" and upped the ante by saying that I actually don't believe that what 2 men do to each other in an act of homosexuality can be considered sexual intercourse.

No further questions necessary!
