Join Rudy 2008 ^ | Feb 13th, 2007 | Press Release

New York, Feb 13 -

In a sign of continuing momentum, the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee today announced Congressman David Dreier, Chairman of the California Republican Congressional Delegation and House Rules Committee Ranking Republican, has announced his support for Mayor Rudy Giuliani to be the next President of the United States. Dreier’s endorsement follows the rousing reception Mayor Giuliani received at the California State Republican Convention and his successful swing through the state. Dreier will help lead Mayor Giuliani’s exploratory committee efforts in California.

Congressman Dreier said, “America needs the proven leadership of Rudy Giuliani to tackle the difficult challenges our country is facing. Not only does Mayor Giuliani have a record of results, he has a positive, optimistic vision that can unite our Party and our country for the greater good.

“I am proud to be supporting Mayor Rudy Giuliani for President and am looking forward to helping the exploratory committee’s efforts in any way I can,” concluded Dreier.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani welcomed the support from Congressmen Dreier. “I’m excited to have a Republican leader like Congressman Dreier on our team.” This endorsement comes on the heels of Congressman Pete Sessions and former Congresswoman Susan Molinari joining Team Rudy, as well as the previously announced support of California Congressman Devin Nunes and Congresswoman Mary Bono. More California endorsements will be announced later in the week.

Given what Rudy stands for, this forum is being transformed from FreeRepublic to FreeAbortions.

Yep. They'll even use your tax dollars to do 'em.

Hell, I'd be happy if there were still some FReepers who were smart enough, or intellectually honest enough, to recognize or admit it when they lose a debate.

We've been taken over by petty, teen-aged, girls.

This is good news and the political backing will keep on rolling in, day by day.

SPAMMING used to be against the rules, although the rule still stands, the rule against SPAMMING is not uniformly enforced.

Debate is quite another thing --- I am all for debate, when posters use their own words, but at present, each side demands a sourced link and proof of the assertion and hence the seemingly endless SPAM and the obvious consequence: flame wars.

When I determine which candidate I want to support, you will find me on his threads both in support of my choice and in defence of him.

I am at a loss to why they only attack these threads about Rudy. I don't even think a lot of these people are Republican. But how often do you remember someone that went on another site trashed FR and the owner and now is back like he is the king of the site?

It is amazing how the Rudy & McCain camps have gone all out to make Mitt Romney's announcement today a non news item.

Will you call every man who support Rudy, a homosexual or a RINO, or a liberal, or worse? If so, you going to be calling an awful lot of people names, for the next 10 years; perhaps even yourself.

I am looking forward to some more announcements. I like that he is going outside of Congress too. I am not sure I would want some of their endorsements.

Called him a sell-out and other things. It wasn't the nicest but then we have come to expect that.

Perhaps you missed Rudy talking about partial birth abortion on Hannity and Colmes. People change but Rudy is not allowed to change according to all of you and must stick with something said in 2000 or 1987. You are supposed to be changing hearts and minds on abortion but the way you all treat people no one would change their mind because they are automatically condemned for something they said years ago.

Interesting...when Kerry or the Clintons change a position to try to attrack voters outside their normal base conservatives like me call that "flip-flopping."

What do Republicans, er, "conservatives" call it when a liberal Republican, er, "conservative" does it?

Cause "changing his position" just isn't a good sound bite...

I would have voted against the Federal Marriage Act if I were in Congress not because I don't think that marriage should be between a man and a woman but I consider that a States Rights issue not a congressional issue!

Before you get all bent out of shape, I voted in my State of Oklahoma for the Marriage bill which defined marriage between a man and a woman which passed easily.

During campaign 2000 Bush was openly called a coke dealer by the self-annointed "true conservatives" at FR.

He was also called a draft dodger by the same group. They especially like the story about Bush dancing naked in a Mexican whorehouse. Also popular was the story that Bush was Clinton's partner in the Mena Operations.

Not much has change. The "true conservatives" still hate Bush. And the "true conservatives" hate Rudy.

What you hear now is mild. The malicious and vicious rhetoric will escalate.

I am at a loss to why they only attack these threads about Rudy.

Rudy is leading in the polls, but Mitt Romney gets slashed, bashed and trashed too. McCain has scant few threads, but his are always hate festivals.

I have also seen Duncan Hunter trashed, and that is a direct result of payback from trashings and SPAMMING of Rudy by Hunter supporters who seem drawn to all Rudy threads.

I am anxiously awaiting the first candidate debate, which deport posted is scheduled to take place on April 4, 2007. The polls afterward will be most interesting.
