That's what I like most about him. He gets it. No platitudes. Not saying he's the ONLY one for the job. Just saying I like what I hear, that's all.

The Mayor has one major problem: He likes the sound of his his own voice.
When asked a question, the Mayor should learn to answer the question concisely, then STFU, and await the next question.
Giuliani is trying to answer the question and then goes into a rambling dissertation. He is suffering from Kerryitis.

Here us where the rubber meets my road:
The right to life, bestowed by the Creator alone, is the right on which all our rights rests. For over forty years, the most vulnerable humans have not had the protection of this fundamental right.
I have no trust, nor respect for anyone who advocates for a set of laws that tramples the right to life.

I consider myself a social conservative. However, point for point I might not match your level of social conservatism. But, who can? Right?
I think Rudy Giuliani is more conservative that George W. Bush...on fiscal matters, perhaps on education issues, perhaps even on the environment (Remember GWB's statement in the State of the Union address about global warming?).
So, where is the perfect conservative we can all agree on?
Doesn't exist, in my humble opinion.

They do that in New York. Sean is a New Yorker.
The more I hear Rudy talk and think, and I see how intelligent and realistic he is, the more I like.
He appeals to a broad base. It's no wonder he is winning support strongly wherever he goes. California is NOT out of the arena of possibility. Neither is New York.
He makes Hillary look like a scripted robotic fool. She truly fears his abilities, which is why she is avoiding the first round of debates with him. He will chew her up and spit her out and leave the audience in awe. He has that effect on people.

Point of inquiry if I might. How do you stand on capital punishment?

...Then she has got to be stopped. Period.

We don't need a perfect conservative but it would be sure be nice to have one who doesn't support murdering babies using my money and interprets the second amendment as my right to shoot squirrels. Is that asking too much?

I like him too and he does appeal to a broad base, BUT, my number one concern at this point is illegal immigration and it sounds like he supports amnesty and is weak on the borders.

I think it's hard for folks to look at legal and philosophical principles devoid of specifics. I was trained to do that and frankly the mayor connects with me, so they can sue me. :)

I'm against it.
Putting the ultimate penalty in the hands of those who are in charge of the DVM is a disaster.

George W. Bush doesn't support abortion. Has abortion changed appreciably in the 6 years of his presidency? Just how can the president affect the abortion issue? By the appointment of judges. On that I trust Jim Olson's opinion of Giuliani's character: He will appoint strict constructionists.

I guess I was not clear. I will never support ANYONE who supports denial of the right to life. That includes any and all leftist Republican everywhere I find them.
And Hillary will not get the nomination.

George W. Bush doesn't support abortion. Has abortion changed appreciably in the 6 years of his presidency? That's a straw man.
You and I know it will take several presidents to appoint judges that can overturn Roe v. Wade.
