Prayers for his family.
Whatever happened to that Dem Senator? How is he voting? Is he even cognizant?
RIP, Rep Norwood, and may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Who the hell cares right now. Is this now a "Your representative is sicker than our rep" thread?

However, if we attend his funeral services pumping our fists in the air shouting, "We will win", like at the Wellstone funeral, then maybe have a problem.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Heres the press release from his congressional office that just came across:
(Augusta, Georgia) - U.S. Rep. Charlie Norwood (R-GA10), 65, passed away this morning at his Augusta home following an extensive battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and non-small cell lung cancer. Norwood received a single lung transplant in 2004 as treatment for IPF, and developed non-small cell lung cancer in 2005.
Norwood represented the Augusta-to-Athens 10th congressional district since 1995, and was re-elected in November 2006 by a landslide margin.

This is a political discussion board. It's what we do here.
There will have to be a special election called to select another Representative.
Prayers to Rep. Norwood and his family.
But you can bet it's been discussed since the Congressman (God rest his soul) has been ill for quite some time.

So sad when someone has to depart like this. My prayers go out to his family and friends.
What a shame. Age 65 is awfully young. RIP and prayers to family.
I'm sorry to hear that. I think I saw where he checked into a hospice just recently, so that doesn't come as a complete surprise, but still...R.I.P.
That said, John Dingell and Al Gore are still above ground. Unfortunately.

Thanks....I have learned to ignore the "holier than thou" posters. :-)
Rest In Peace Representative Norwood. Prayers to his family and friends.
Replacements for House of Reps are not appointed - a special election needs to be held, usually at the next state primary or next state general election. The seat will be vacant until then. If I'm not mistaken.
That's probably true. I've known how ill he was for months. From what I know, he was a good man and I'm sorry that he lost his brave fight.
Prayers for his family. I'm glad he made his peace and had time with his family before he passed.
He was still in Congress.
His doctor found a spot of cancer on his liver after the election.
He chose to come home last week and come under Hospice care.
This is terribly sad.
I hope we can elect a R in this district now.
Herman Cain should run for the seat.
