"I think people are paranoid" was how former Grateful Dead member Mickey Hart's comments to Reuters began. Hart was speaking about this year's Grammy Awards and the Dixie Chicks. Then he provided a sterling example of that very paranoia...

"I think that if they speak out, they think they're gonna get whacked by the government. It's pretty oppressive now. Look at the Dixie Chicks. They got whacked."

As Alice Cooper said, ""If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."

One might add that if you're listening to a rock star, (or almost any celebrity) for any information other than how to be a rock star, then you're a bigger moron than they are.

Y'ello.. The Grammy's are POLITICAL.. The only reason the THEY (THE RECORD COMPANY'S) gave all those awards to the Ditsy Chicks was to promote them!

I can`t believe these Dixie Bims won for "album of the year" and song of the year for "Not ready to Make Nice”...On the other hand I can believe it, it just absolutely reaffirms my belief that the Grammys are nothing more than one more ego massaging clown show for liberals and their know-it-all idealogies.

To think that this pretentious crock of self absorbed garbage is the best song ever written all year is so laughable it`s just makes it more obvious to me why these Grammys have nothing at all to do with music.

Let's see who got Grammy Awards: Jimmy Carter and the Dixie Chicks (who had to cancel concerts for lack of interest) and Al Gore presented. How on earth could anyone argue they weren't political? Can't wait for Al Gore to get his Oscar and his Nobel Peace prize--He's so gifted and talented!! /sarc

These multi-millionaires don't just want to be richer than others, they also want issue commandments to all the little people from their lofty perches as singers or whatever. With all the sycophants around them, a little public disdain for their outlandish behavior must come as quite a shock to them.

That's why the Music Industry is in DEEP DEEP trouble....

Much like the Academy Awards. The left uses both to prop up their most threatened and controversial propaganda.

Hollywood used to be very conservative as well as reverend. But slowly, amorality took over.

Alice Cooper is a right winger and a good family man. I've seen him here on Maui many times with his family and in laws at restaurants etc. Always nice to autograph seekers too.

The poor Chix got "whacked"???

The idiots pissed of their fan base. If you want people to buy your product you have to sell yourself first. The customer has to like you. This is true for an actor, musician, politician of vacuum cleaner salesman.
