Bush Aides Like What They See In Guiliani

While the White House is taking a hands-off approach to the 2008 GOP presidential primaries so far, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is quietly seeing an administration cheerleading section grow.

One insider said that it is built on the fact that Giuliani continues to beat Sen. John McCain in the polls and also because he is offering to stick with several Bush programs, including an aggressive stance against terrorists, and promises to name conservative judges to the court. One Bush official today noted Giuliani's pledge to nominate conservative judges and applauded the New Yorker for making that claim in liberal California.

"He didn't back away just because he was in California. In fact, he went there to make that statement. That's a very important signal," said the insider. Interestingly, even White House conservatives are showing support for Giuliani.

"He's the front-runner, and he's doing everything so far very good," said another official. "He isn't bending to what people want to hear. He kind of sounds like Bush did in 2000."

Exactly. Rumors do not equal fact.

It might be true, I've heard those rumors too, but I refuse to give them any creedence unless they are proven.

And yes about Rudy.

Are you high? Or are you one of those liberals to whom words don't mean what they mean, but what we want them to mean?

I didn't excuse anything. I admit he's for abortion, you just listed it twice worded different ways to make your list longer. I admitted he's bad on the issues that he's bad on, I just didn't let you get away with your blatant distortions that you don't even seem to bother trying to dispute me on.

He's not for partial birth abortion if it has a life exception. You can call him a liar if you want, but fine, if he can lie one way, why not another? What would stop me from saying he's lying when he says he's pro-choice and really he's pro-life? Let's just take his statements at face value.

See my tagline.

I have not spent my past 15 years actively involved in politics so that a blue state Rockefeller Republican with questionable ethics would represent my party.

The Noo Yawk media (including Fox, the Post, and National Review) are pushing for Rudy because he furthers their cosmopolitant, Republican-lite outlook.

Rudy minuscule tax cuts can't hide the fact that NYC remains a socialist hellhole after eight years of his rule. The fact that he merely provides superficial soundbites from Bibi Netanyahu does not mean he has "foreign policy expertise."

Rudy is, as he used to say back in the 90s, a Clintonian. Of course, don't tell this to the Rutards, who have a Hillary fetish, and are in fear of her.

More wacko talk! My rhetoric is pure conservatism and has been for decades. Your rhetoric is obviously based on premeditated obfuscation of American politics, both liberalism and conservatism.

>>>>>I.... didn't let you get away with your blatant distortions that you don't even seem to bother trying to dispute me on.

What distortions would that be? I distorted nothing. What I see is you blatantly covering for Rudy`s liberal record. Nothing more. Obfuscating Rudy`s real record won't work. As time passes, the truth will become more widespread. You can't coverup for Rudy forever.

[ Well then why even bother to vote, since the "shadow government" controls everything anyway. And here I thought Ronald Reagan was elected twice by voters. I guess he was selected, not elected by the "shadow government" also, eh? Or does the shadow government just step in once in a while -- like when your candidate loses? ]

Dunno... their in the shadows.. Duuugh

I agree. I'd vote for Rudy over Hillary. But the primaries are not over yet; they've barely begun. My current vote is not for Rudy.

I have spent the last week asking around my own area what is the #1 issue facing America and to a person they said Iraq and the WOT. When I asked about social issues, the #1 answer was that social issues are not that important in this election when we are facing the enemy.

I found this to be a succinct statement of conditions on the ground in 2007.

In See No Evil, 25-year veteran CIA case officer Robert Baer narrates his hunt for the bomber of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut in 1983. As he closed in on a shadowy member of IJO ("a term of art for Iran") he was suddenly snatched out of country and back to Washington to face an angry Tony Lake, charged with attempting to assassinate Saddam Hussein.

You can't make this stuff up--the Clinton Administration was so politically corrupted that intelligence was suborned to the whims of Janus Alinsky.

Now comes the rough beast slouching toward Bethlehem warning us in advance that She shall "end this war".

A war declared in the Seventh Century is something she "resents".

Now Iran provides the shaped explosives that rip through our up-armored Humvees and kill our people.

But for the rough beast, killing our people on 9-11 was more a problem of "air quality" than of actually fighting the enemy.

Bill sent Carville to defeat Netanyahu and elect Ehud Barak to surrender to Yasser Arafat. Hillary embraced (smooched) Suha after the latter's blood libel beyond disgusting. Rudy ousted Arafat from Lincoln Center and gave back the check from the terrorist-supporting sheik.

That the article suggests "Bush aides" are pleased with Giuliani's candidacy is hopeful, as the removal of Rumsfeld and his replacement with Gates was odd.

Gates coauthored the 2004 CFR paper "Iran-A New Approach" with Carter's man Zbigniew Brzezinski which suggested negotiations with Iran.

Carter who cut 820 CIA case officers Halloween 1977.

Carter who betrayed the shah and paved the way for Khomeini--not to mention the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

Now Obama wants to negotiate with Iran. Edwards (and Kerry) wanted to negotiate with Iran. Hillary wants to negotiate with Iran ("we've got to talk with our enemies").

I don't think Rudy wants to sit down with the people who slashed throats, stole planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center towers.

The jumpers' social issues were preempted by the immediate breakdown in national security.

Yah whatever. The fact you didn't even try to address my points speaks volumes about your commitment to the truth.

Anyhow;

Really? I kinda like the suit. Old fashioned, sure, but classy. Makes him look like a lawyer from the 20's.

My greatest critique of the "unrealistic" wing of the Republican Party is apparently people really think that they're going to win votes with a scowl and negativity.

Interesting thought. I’ve made comments on the anti-Rudys and their keywords Here Here and Here

The routine stuff, CROSSDRESSER, JULIEANNIE, ILLEGALHUGGER, RUTARDS (that’s probably his supporters), red meat to the faithful, and an interesting intellectual commentary.

Then there are the votegetters, NYISNOTAMERICA and NYTOTHEBOTTOMOFSEA, designed to alienate NYers I suppose, and LINGUINEPHALLUS, a sexual commentary on Italians I suppose.

But this thread has my favorite, thus far.

BURNNYCBURN

The antiRudys working for jihadist support I suppose. They’re right, Rudy is NOT their candidate.

As one who doesn’t support him in the primaries, there are some real morons on my side of the argument.

OMG I didn't see that one! I'm sorry whoever wrote that one is as bad as a terrorist! I'm sorry, I'm a NYer and that is just freaking disgusting to me!

"For the record, Free Republic has come out against the Rudy campaign." That must be why it allows numerous articles to be posted which quickly run into hundreds of posts. That must be why these are the most popular threads on the site.

Oh, and you know very well that FR cannot endorse any candidate. And I know that will not stop you from posting falsehoods claiming something different.
