Bush-sticker had consequenses (Norway)

Vandalism, attempted break-in and in the end the theft of the car itself. All this after Lars Olsson put a Bush-sticker on the car.

(Dagbladet.no): Wednesday last week Lars Olsson putt his sticker in support of Bush on his Chrysler Voyager: «George W. Bush. Saving your butt whether you like it or not.»

Vandalism

-Already the same day I started to notice the reactions. There was some honking and stuff, Lars says to Dagbladet.no

-Then, Thursday morning I discovered that someone had broken off the window wipers at the rear of the car. I had to fix them, the 33 year old Bush-supporter says. The car was parked over the night in Villaveien in Asker, where he lives. The next morning he was met with new destrictions.

-Someone had tried to enter the vehicle. The handle on the sliding-door on the side was torn off, Lars explains.

Car-theft

Lars fastened the handle with a waier, and the car, with some loose parts but with the Bush-sticker well attached, was as good as new.

-Then, on Friday or Saturday morning someone took off with the car. -Because of the sticker? -Yes, at least that is my theory. I think it would be odd if all these things happen to occur right after I put on the sticker, Lars says.

Bush-admirerer

Lars is self-employed. He runs two web-sites and is a columnist and an innovator, according to himself.

-Why do you admire Bush? He has a strength of character. He does things that are unpopular if he thinks it is right, although it doesn’t pay off politically on the short term, Lars says. -You don’t look especially sad over loosing the car? -No, I understand that this may be a funny story to some. It is impractical to loose the car, but I don’t mind it that much. -If it can lead to more sympathy for Bush in Norway it would be worth it, Lars says.

Asker og Bærum police confirms that the car has been reported stolen. They have no theory about the motive behind the car-theft.

This story is actually the head story on Dagbladet.no this Sunday, one of the largest newspapers in Norway. Obviously it doesn't happen much in Norway.

I feel sorry for the guy though, it's difficult to be an open supporter of Bush and the USA in Norway, not to mention supporters of Israel... The socialists have managed to convince the majority that they have a monopoly of the truth.

Yep, take up a collection and send him lots of Bush stickers. Hopefully he could stick them in prominent places.

Take heart, folks. We're helping to make a whole new generation of impotent young fascists feel vital.

Another country that is scheduled for a Muzzie takeover in the not too didtant future. These PC idiots wouldn't have the stones to attack a Muzzie.
How low the once mighty Vikings have sunk.

One car hardly seems noteworthy for so many Muslims in Norway - they still are burning scores in France aren't they?

Sounds like Lars possesses these same qualities...kudos and admiration for him from here too. God bless you, Lars.

I park every night on the streets of Los Angeles and I do not put up bumper stickers for fear of leftists vandalizing my car. I realize this may be considered cowardice but at this point in my life I cannot afford the expense of liberals going wild on my car. When I have my own garage to park in I will go all out. Until then I cannot rebut such brilliant stickers as "Draft Young Republicans" and "I Hated Bush Before it Was Popular" (yes, I actually saw that on a car).

Props to this guy in Norway for standing up for what he believes in.

There are a few more than that. I have two very conservative brothers who live there. Their circle of friends is made up of many like-minded right-thinkers. Sadly they are in the minority.

I had an old beater I used to drive during the winter in Ohio. But a bunch of GW and Protest Warrior bumper stickers on it.

Got keyed, beat on, vandalized, etc. But it was a beater, so I didn't really care.

But yes, this will happen to your car, even in the "heartland," if you put a GW sticker or the like on it.

Remember, libs believe in free speech -- but only as long as its speech with which they agree!
