CLEVELAND -- Prosecutors in Ohio's most populous county said they'll no longer block the local organ bank if it wants to remove organs from people who are not yet brain dead.
Most organs are removed for donation only after the brain ceases all activity. But nationwide there has been growing use a more complicated procedure to remove the organs after the heart stops working.
Three such donations were done in Akron last year.
Cuyahoga County prosecutors for the past decade have clashed with the LifeBanc over removing organs after cardiac death. At one point they threatened homicide charges.
But Prosecutor Bill Mason has written a legal opinion endorsing a revised procedure that does not include use of a blood thinning drug that prosecutors believed would hasten death.
Wow. The slippery slope continues.
Imagine what Hill will allow if she gets in.
Oh , Brave New World !
Every day we inch closer to closer to the world in
Arthur C Clarke's novel .
Why let them go to waste if you have a quick sale for them.

"We've come for your liver!"
"I'm using it!"
I donated most of my organs -- including my liver, my heart, two kidneys, my corneas, 80% of my skin and my pancreas. Right now, I'm just a cranium attached to a CPU.
Take apart, clean, replace the broken parts, reassemble.
Sometimes we just have to accept the wisdom of other cultures. After all, the Chinese military and police have been doing this for some time now.
Can't take it with you...

Tell me about it...I read that the Netherlands is considering legalizing euthanasia in cases of mental illness. God help us.
Yeah, but at least wait until you are done using them. I agree with the "slippery slope" comment: what is next? Using bits of the arms and legs of parapalegics because they don't need them anymore?
Organ harvest prior to brain death.
That has an ominous ring.
The old song by Buck Owens:
"My heart skipped a beat....
When she walked down the street.."
Could lose you your heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, etc.
They ought to just snag dem voters as they come out of the voter booths.
I don't like the current organ donation program. They give organs to people who don't deserve them in the first place. Like the prison on death row getting a cardiac transplant, or the alcoholic with liver cirrhosis getting a new liver. All this expense on the back of the tax payer. I hate the way the human body is treated like a junked car stripping away the usable parts and discarding the shell. Now they demand the authority to take what they want before you are dead. This is completely unethical.
Obviously this excludes voters in Cuyahoga County.
That would be Aldous Huxley who wrote Brave New World. Clarke wrote other stuff along those lines.
