Border agents who testified against convicted co-workers will be fired
Men who were at scene of shooting terminated for changing their stories
by Sara A. Carter
Two Border Patrol agents who testified against two co-workers convicted of shooting a drug smuggler will be fired for changing their stories about events surrounding the shooting, according to documents obtained by the Daily Bulletin.
Sources inside the Border Patrol also say Oscar Juarez, a third agent who testified against Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, resigned from the agency last month shortly before he was to be fired.
All three agents gave sworn testimony against Ramos and Compean for the U.S. Attorney's Office, which successfully prosecuted the shooting case in March. The agents were given immunity in exchange for their testimony despite changing their accounts of the incident several
"When you give deals to witnesses like immunity, the government usually gets the testimony (it wants)," said Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, a former judge and prosecutor. "This case is a perfect example."

Do your ping thing, girl.
If they are given immunity for their testimony, but then lie for that testimony resulting in wrongful convictions, do they still have immunity? Sounds like they just committed several new crimes.
Hey...did anyone notice that there have been no protests from the Left to "free' the imprisoned agents!
Weren't their civil rights violated?
Uh, oh, yeah....that only gets you a protest if you are Bush hater or Anti government.
Get those two guys out of prison before they get killed! Put these two morons in in their place.

Witnesses against Ramos & Compean fired for lying on stand...
This is like Waco, Ruby Ridge, Arkancide, Hill's miraculous trade deal, Clinton laughing at Ron Brown's funeral...They do as they please and the public's too busy trying to keep a roof over their heads to pay attention. Abuse of power beyond belief. US sovereignty tossed overboard, illegal prosecution of border agents doing their job. Cozy arrangement with drug dealer, immunity, and now he's suing for 5 million. Mexico integrates with the US. Oh, well, globalization has a few potholes. Nothing to see here. Go back to sleep.
Well said !!!
(That's Hill's legendary stock market prowess I was referring to.)

You're right on. At a minimum, these two deserve a new trial. Have we all emailed the White House?
Vasquez also said that when he opened the door to the van, he couldn't smell the nearly 800 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle, contradicting statements made by other agents on the scene, according to trial testimony.
Geez, I can't imagine why the smugglerz would bother to make a shipment of pot to be brought into the US in this manner smellproof, since any notice taken of the movement would surely result in inspection.....as opposed to concealing it within an otherwise legal importation of goods or whatever. That little van must have stunk to high heaven with weed; why is he lying about THAT?
Complete pardon and reinstatement is the only right answer.
Thank you for the ping, boats.

Nice of Poe to stand at attention for this.
Sara A. Carter, the author, is the reporter who appears on the O'Reilly show about this.
At this point I cannot imagine why ANYONE would consider working for the Border Patrol.
FYI
BTW: IIRC, only a federal judge can "undo" the immunity of the real criminals.
