I would like to think you are correct, but aside from sites like this one, is there any serious heat on the US Govt? I know a few of our elected reps are asking questions, but how much of a threat is that in reality?
Would the open-borders type consider it more important to reassure mexico than listen to Americans like us? I think they might.

I wasn't referring to the parties involved. I was referring to the comments by too many of my Freeper associaties who go off half cocked about border jumping Mexicans.

Why do you think the left is trying so hard do bring down the "rich" (anyone making over minimum wage. Poor people...peons...are much easier to control than the rich.
And it's mostly the filthy rich DEMOCRATS who push this agenda. Brings me back to one of my favorite sayings...

Sutton claimed the illegal drug smuggler was shot in the back. The truth is that he was shot in the left side. As the illegal drug smuggler is left handed that is exactly how he would turn and point a gun at an approaching law enforcement officer. That's a ridiculous assumption to defend your position.

I have read and followed the case.
Thank you very much. If any Freeper thinks President Bush would sit idle and let two border patrol agents sit wrongfully in jail after a highly publicized and investigated jury trial...then they are morons.
If he does pardon them, he would be caving into all you wackos.
Furthermore, I participated in the ANS thread for quite awhile and after 3000 replies...like any thread of that size...the topic has a tendency to shift for a bit.
Suggest you go back and do some research before you start accusing posters of hijacking threads.

True. But I still have a hunch there's something bigger or at least not focused on which would explain this bizarre case.

That's a ridiculous assumption to defend your position. It doesn't stand on its own, but it fits exactly with what the agents claimed, as opposed to the lie told by Johnny Sutton that the drug smuggler was shot in the back.
DCPatriot, Put yourself in the scenario presented. I guarantee you that you will turn sideways to present the smallest profile to the Border Patrol agents pursuing you and you will use your preferred hand to handle the weapon you are going to use against them.
Is Johnny Sutton a good friend or business associate of yours?

Witnesses against Ramos & Compean fired for lying on stand... I think this qualifies as "damned if you do, damned if you don't". Not too much sympathy here but still if you lied to protect the government on this, seems like they'd stand behind you. This whole situation is an Alice in Wonderland, everything that is up, is down and everything that is down, is up. I can only hope Sutton pays.

The two Border Guards were "Railroaded!" The stench of prosecution is overwelming.

...isn't Sutton the same one that convicted the Sheriff that shot at an illegal for trying to run over him? Looks like you're correct.

The U.S. attorney, who won lengthy prison terms last year for two U.S. Border Patrol agents in the shooting of a drug-smuggling suspect, also prosecuted Edwards County Deputy Sheriff Guillermo F. Hernandez, who is to be sentenced next month.

Right on. The "bladed" stance does make the most sense. It provides the most balance under those circumstances.
Sutton has become the Lone Star State's Nifong.

It's NOT the jury here....it's the fed prosecutor and judge on this case. There was material that this judge WOULD NOT let into the court proceeding which would have had a not guilty verdict from this jury. What a complete set up....jury had no other choice but guilty.
This ain't over...these two BP agents will not stay long in the fed pen. Lots of heads will be rolling...just watch.
