Border agents who testified against convicted co-workers will be fired

Border agents who testified against convicted co-workers will be fired
Men who were at scene of shooting terminated for changing their stories
by Sara A. Carter

Two Border Patrol agents who testified against two co-workers convicted of shooting a drug smuggler will be fired for changing their stories about events surrounding the shooting, according to documents obtained by the Daily Bulletin.

Sources inside the Border Patrol also say Oscar Juarez, a third agent who testified against Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, resigned from the agency last month shortly before he was to be fired.

All three agents gave sworn testimony against Ramos and Compean for the U.S. Attorney's Office, which successfully prosecuted the shooting case in March. The agents were given immunity in exchange for their testimony despite changing their accounts of the incident several

"When you give deals to witnesses like immunity, the government usually gets the testimony (it wants)," said Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, a former judge and prosecutor. "This case is a perfect example."

Why are you on this thread to once again trumpet your open border policy? That isn't the subject of this thread. It's about a miscarriage of justice for two American Hispanic Border Patrol Agents, who have unfairly been sent to prison for doing their jobs -- and by extension taking away your cheap labor pool in DC.

I did not hijack this thread.

I am responding to those that disagreed with my position on the 2 rogue border patrol agents.

Please don't respond to me in the future.

I've read your drama queen antics on the Anna Nicole thread.

Get help.

But I still wonder why the government went after them with such a vicious vengeance when, as you pointed out, "benign neglect" had been working just fine for the open-borders crowd for decades.

I think the answer is us - they are concerned about people like us. As long as illegal immigration was mostly a border-states issue, and mostly confined to a few neighborhoods and a few cities, it was tolerable, and the voices against it could be ignored. Now illegal issues are nationwide, visible, and problematic.

But most importantly, now there are many, many cranky, outspoken Americans who are openly questioning our government's "immigration policy". I think that's the big change.

WND has an article about Aldrette's cell phone being found in the van, yet Sutton said many times there was no evidence against him.

From reports I've read, Johnny Sutton is a real piece of "work".

Sutton claimed the illegal drug smuggler was shot in the back. The truth is that he was shot in the left side. As the illegal drug smuggler is left handed that is exactly how he would turn and point a gun at an approaching law enforcement officer.

Sutton claimed the agents didn't file a written report. Border Patrol regulations prohibit agents from filing a written report in a shooting incident, the supervisor or investigator must file the written report within three hours.

Just two of the many falsehoods told in this case.

It is high time to smoke him out of his little hole and shed some light on his rise to Congressman from this most corrupt part of the U.S. border that he was in charge of for all those years.

I was hardly a drama queen on the Anna Nicole thread... and you only knew I was there because you tried to hijack over there, too.. just like you did this thread. Before you comment on the merits or lack of on Compean and Ramos you need to read the facts of the case. This isn't about Mexican's at your local 711 in DC, that is for other threads. This is about miscarriage of justice.

Those guys shot someone in the back

The illegal drug smuggler was shot in the left side of his buttocks.

Said drug smuggler is left handed, a bullet entering his left side fits exactly with the BP agents' claim that he turned and pointed, very possibly, a weapon at them.

A little bit of the true destroys Johnny Sutton's case.

I doubt, DC, that you have to deal with the consequences of large numbers of illegal aliens in your neighborhood. Your business gets to profit from the availability of illegal labor, you go home and leave others to cope with the crime.

This known as privatizing the profit while socializing (making the citizens and taxpayers pay) the costs. John Q Citizen gets the effed up schools and neighborhoods while DC takes home the profits. DC is probably small potatoes. This is much more pernicious when big business does it.

"The bigotry and xenophobia shown in these threads is nauseating"

In case you hadn't noticed, former agents Ramos and Compean are both Hispanic themselves, DCPatriot. So, the bigotry smear doesn't quite cut it in this instance.

I didn't have a sarc tag, April : ) I meant it.

I probably sounded sarcastic because I'm wistfully wishing someone like this would stand up for our Marines. Pray for them.

At this point I cannot imagine why ANYONE would consider working for the Border Patrol. Mission accomplished I guess.

Yep, this administration will continue its middle-finger open borders policies no matter the human or financial cost.

I have read so many articles and do not remember where I read this but isn't Sutton the same one that convicted the Sheriff that shot at an illegal for trying to run over him?

Good post devolve. I have not read through the thread but surely this information justifies an appeal.

The information that the bullet fragments in the butt and leg could have come from any of 4 different guns is appalling!

Whatta jury these guys had.

We are... actually there was another thread last night about an outright lie Alan Colmes tried to perpetrate to Ollie North last night saying they were guilty... an email campaign ensued.

They are victims, just as our border patrol agents are victims... in both cases they are guilty of doing their jobs and defending our country, but are being sacraficed on the alter of politics.

What was the make up of that jury? Is there a chance they would have been prejudiced by the lie that they said they "wanted to shoot some Mexican's"??

I keep so busy making graphics that sadly I don't keep up on the information and don't know the answer to that.

I'm afraid I must've mangled my point. The U.S. government kicked a hornets' nest with this over-the-top prosecution. It's an incredibly dumb move which has really hurt the open-borders-amnesty movement. Hence, it doesn't make sense.
