Idiot Waxman.  The smokers plague!

Tobacco "kills over 400,000 Americans every year. Yet it is one of the least regulated of all consumer products," wrote Waxman and Davis.

I'd love to see their proof!!!

"serious regulation to protect the public's health. "

Who the hell ask them to protect our health!!!!!  Bunch of idiots, all of them!

Sen. Richard M. Burr, R-N.C., recently told the Winston-Salem Journal he would work to block Senate passage of any bill allowing for FDA regulation of cigarettes. "I would use every legislative tool at my disposal," he vowed.

Aren't these the same jackasses who were whining about President Bush using the Patriot Act to take away our freedoms and liberties? Where are the buffoons from the aCLU?

Most of the states - including California - are now too dependent on revenues from the settlements made with the tobacco companies to go for this. They have in fact become partners with Big Tobacco. Waxman's just grandstanding for his health nazi base.

In the Senate, Sens. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass

I read no farther. A murderer telling Americans how to live.

What a crock of crap. These money-grubbers will be squealing like pigs when they start losing tobacco taxes. They obviously feel they have nothing else important to do with their time....and gee, if tobacco is that bad, just outlaw the sale of it altogether??? HA! Not with all that tax money there....no way Jose.

This is getting comical --

NANNY STATE PING

This is Waxman doing the dirty work of the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and their partners in crime against lawabiding Americans, Philip Morris.

Those buffoons refuse to step up to the plate for anything dealing with tobacco issues.

Henry Waxman has what my late father used to call a frying pan face. Every time you see his face, you want to repeatedly strike it with a frying pan.

I'd love to see their proof!!!

Well a few years ago, the Surgeon General issued a statement that said that "Secondhand smoke was more dangerous to those who did not smoke that to those who did". I almost took up smoking again just to protect myself. It is just liberal idiocy of the kind I expected before the election when all those crazy freepers tried to convince me to not vote republican, just to show them we are mad. Well now they know how mad we are. Hope the crazy ones are happy now.

Definition--another tax.

Lol, but I thought the punch-line was going to be, he's so ugly he looks like he's been hit him in the face with a frying pan. Either way, he'd still have to sneak up on a glass of water to get a drink.

The obvious solution to losing tobacco revenue is to shift those taxes onto Latte's, Chardonnay, and Hybrid cars.

With a RAT/RINO coalition running congress, they don't care about the loss of tobacco taxes....they'll just raise some other taxes to make up for it.

Hard for a socialist RAT to give up a tax dollar, since their world view is that all YOUR wealth really belongs to them. I think they are just doing this to be able to say they did "something" to benefit the public, as token as it will end up -- I do not think will do anything to disrupt the HUGE taxes that flow from tobacco users.

Yep, exactly. Tobacco will never be banned because politicians don't have the guts to and the tobacco black market will make the Drug War look tame by comparison.
