The bizzare saga of Anna Nicole Smith just got stranger. Two of Smith's lawyers are on TV now answering press questions. Birkhead's request for an emergency DNA test of the baby has been denied. When one of Smith's lawyers was asked about the ruling, he said that 'DNA is not necessarily conclusive,' which is news to me. Both Birkhead and Smith contend that they are the baby's father, and the two most likely executors of a fortune worth $1.6 billion.
The judge ruled he cannot rule on any emergency petition because he believes the case is under Bahamian jurisdiction.
One of Smith's attorneys then got even wierder by saying that 'there as some allegations that the baby's hair has been dyed,' suggesting an attempt to alter its appearance re. paternity.
This case looks like the Tabloid Full Employment Act of 2007. I feel bad for the baby.
What if NEITHER man is father?................
Jeez, you think the OJ trial was bad, this will be worse.
The baby IS a US citizen, unless there have been some very recent changes to Bahamian citizenship laws. By virtue of being born there, she has the right to register as a Bahamian citizen once she's turned 18, but has no Bahamian citizenship now (except that I heard there's now a third guy claiming to be the father, and if he's a Bahamian citizen, then the baby's Bahamian citizenship status is undetermined, but her US citizenship status is still secure).
A very real possibility IMO. I know of no reason to believe that Anna Nicole even knew for sure who the father was.
even better
Well, not to defame the dead but, given the circumstanes of this whole thing, going back to what happened just after the baby's birth, I've heard some people speculate that the true identity of the father might be truly distrubuing.
Count on it.
> My point is that it'll probably be evident soon, just by eyeballing the baby, which guy is the more likely father.
You are assuming it is one or the other.
If you're hinting what I presume, I do indeed not want to go there.
I'm sure that they will have to use extradition to get the baby back, but so far the Bahamian gov't seems to be supporting Stern as the father. I am sure that they were doing whatever was deemed necessary to avoid extradition of the baby , since birth, maybe even before. She wasn't married to Stern, was she?
Sure the baby could use a lawyer, but what she could REALLY use is a family. A normal family, with a dog and a yard and a sandbox and a ditzy aunt or two. She doesn't need $1.6 billion and a life under the microscope.
I think it's Birkhead (the Hollywood guy) and I think that's why Anna Nicole Smith moved to the Bahamas: because she knew Birkhead would know he was the father.
It wasn't emergency DNA of the baby...it was DNA of baby's mother...Anne N. Smith...[baby looks like the father out of California which isn't stern]
Won't the medical examiner retain ANS's blood samples?
LOL...hubby and I discussed the Marshall Plan last night :)
We decided the only person that can be ruled out in this paternity case is Michael Jackson.
That wouldn't surprise me at all. I think this story is going to get weirder and weirder as more details emerge.
Anna Nicole Smith will be, or is now, the "new" Marilyn Monroe for the 21st Century......
>>>My point is that it'll probably be evident soon, just by eyeballing the baby, which guy is the more likely father.>>>
That baby looks JUST LIKE Larry Birkhead. HKS's features are too extraordinary to not be noticable, but that baby looks like Birkhead for sure!
That's true in virtually every U.S. jurisdiction, there are many reported state cases on the subject.
