--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right To Life Bill Offered By Rep. Duncan Hunter February 8, 2007 – On January 22, 2007 California Rep. Duncan Hunter introduced a bill to protect the right to life of unborn children. In a press release, he noted:

“Our greatest obligation as elected leaders is to protect the American people, especially those who are incapable of protecting themselves," said Congressman Hunter. Our children, whether born or unborn, deserve the opportunity to grow and live in a society that values and respects life.

“On this anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision, it is important that we reflect on the 38 million abortions that have been performed in this country since the practice was legalized in 1973. This is a national tragedy that must not go unnoticed.

“This legislation ensures that the unborn are protected from abortion and further provided the same Constitutional protections provided to all Americans. I am proud to once again introduce this important piece of legislation and I hope my colleagues will join me in support of this effort as they have in the previous Congress.”

Text of Rep. Hunter’s bill is available here: Right To Life Act.

What is conservative about trying to change the Constitution without having the stones to amend the Constitution?

E-mail Antonius to get on the Duncan Hunter list. I had a link to some sites that detailed places to contribute time and money. It is lost somewhere in favorite land.

I copied the above exerpt from the site this story is posted from. It sounds like to me, like he has tried to introduce this bill before.

My congressman (Pete Hoekstra) is also on there. A good thing since he didn't ask me before he came out in support of Romney.

Remember when Pelosi brought out the children for her swearing in as speaker ceremony. Then later she glibs on about making America for the children?

What you see here is the Duncan Hunter answer to Pelosi. And notice that Pelosi has not signed as a sponsor to the bill? Is she really for the children?

Nice move Duncan, keep ON IT!

Thanks so much ... I want to get as much about this fine man as I can find. My hope is for a Hunter/Gingrich or Gingrich/Hunter ticket, with the Veep elected as Pres in the following 2012 cycle. So far, Hunter's stance on immigration is the best of the lot of candidates.

That is a good question.... Personally I think abortion should be left up to the states... As it was before Roe v Wade....

I knew Tim Walberg would be a co-sponsor.

We booted a pro-abortion RINO that had no problem with the butchering of babies to get the Good pro-life conservative that seat.

The one term Joe Schwartz is still all pi$$ed off that he was booted. Schwartz was anti-gun too. (kinda reminds ya of Rudy?)

It wouldn't matter if it "passed" or not. On its face it would be tossed out as it attempts to rewrite section 1 of the 14th amendment without going through the mandated process.

This is nothing but circuses for fools. At best, charitably, a reprise of the popular '70s poster "Last Great Act of Defiance".

The O'reilly Factor covered a segment on the border agent beating in prison. Mr O'reilly asked the reporter if the warden was aware the agent's segregation priority. The reporter stated there was no comment on the question. We all know DH wrote a letter pleading for segregation. We all know DH sponsored a bill for pardoning the border agents.
