Just had to share with you this brief from Rev. Wayne Perryman of Seattle, who is taking his case against the Democrat Party to the United States Supreme Court.

According to his release, “The case was originally filed in 2004 after the DNC refused to apologize to African Americans for their support of slavery and Jim Crow. Unlike other Reparation cases, Perryman is not demanding money, only a public apology....

Public apologies are the first step towards reparations.

I'm not too keen on the SC deciding a case involving only an apology. Imagine the precedent it would set.

Okay... if you doubt the word of Rev. Perryman, fine.

What's wrong with bankrupting the DNC...?

Jimmah Carter has to deliver the apology, kneeling on broken glass, wearing a hair shirt infested with Hillary's cootes.

All "africans" that were freed and wanted to return to africa did under President Monroe hence the country in Africa Monrovia.

Those staying and following generations were not slaves.

The article says nothing about the Court accepting this. Why would it? What is the federal interest in it?

Of course the claims made are entirely correct but there is no "there" there.

Democrats should pay reparations. It was the Republicans which freed the slaves through their blood and have tried to bring full citizenship to them with the RATS fighting against all of it every step of the way.

Glad to see they corrected the headline in the first sentence: Democrat Party. :)

The Supreme Court is not going to "hear" this case.

Someone filed a paper with the Court asking it to hear his claims against the Democratic Party to demand an apology for slavery. The odds that the Court will do anything with this paper except stamp it "denied" are exactly zero.

No "there"?

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Republicans have been slandered with the label of racism for decades. Elections have been turned, campaign monies lost, all based on lies.

People's lives have been negatively affected for generations and many, many people have died because of Democrat racism.

Is that enough "there" for you?

While I agree with your point of view, unfortunately, it won't stop there. In order to squeeze more money from the US taxpayers, apologies from some real, acknowledged political group will be the first step in ensuring that the other groups acknowledge and fall into line. In the long run, this is not good for the US taxpayers.

Would you please type that a bit louder? That message needs to get out loud and clear...

Sure don't read about that in today's school textbooks, do you?

______________-

And what percentage of Africans in America does your comment reflect? Clearly, the huge majority of blacks in America were not free to go and were, in fact, slaves.

I have no idea what point you are trying to make.

I've said it before. I'm for full and complete reparations.

For every slave, son of slave or descendant of slaves a reparation fund must be established. For every family receiving these funds there should also be a bill payable to the descendants of the Union soldiers that gave their lives to free the slaves. Say a 5% mark would be fair.

A buck to you means a buck and a nickle to me!

Are we going off on the usual deviation from the original point of this thread... THE IS NOT MONEY CHANGING HANDS. JUST AN APOLOGY.

IF there will be payback in the future, it would have to be paid by the DNC, not the American public at large.
