And now that Pelosi is SOTH, are your conservative acquaintences realizing the error of their ways? If not, they will continue to be a blessing to the Democrats and thus they will have become just as much a part of the problem as the Dems themselves.
My opinion is that they suffer quietly hoping that the RINO's get it and the Republican party gets its senses back. There was no problem with the Reagan conservative. We just need to get back to basics. The moderate dems will follow a Reagan conservative. As Rush says, "conservatism works everytime it is tried".
Frankly, it feels like Ross Perot syndrome all over again, but I pray that our gamble will pay off in 2008. But by then, the illegals will probably have voting rights and they will landslide whoever promises them amnesty. It doesn't look promising.

It's almost two years until the election. We can't know what will happen between now and then. I do know that we conservatives HAVE to stop being one-issue voters if we ever want to elect another Republican president. We have to look past all of our pet issues to the person who has the most ability to lead the country. Presidents do not make law, Congress does. We can be more careful with our votes at the local level and build a conservative Congress, but we are at war and we need a strong leader with experience and intelligence, and that ain't Hillary.
And we have quite a few Rudy supporters here too, including a couple of new converts!! The tide is turning!!

In truth, I don't agree with Rudy on everything he said; but Rudy is America's best hope against the Marxist Hillary.
As it stands now (and it's early, and things can always change) Rudy is in the GOP lead. We could do worse (McCain, thismeansyou).

I'm a business analyst. I look at the entire organization and always look at the ultimate goal of succes for the enterprise.
There are always priorities. The ultimate priority is to survive.
In terms of our country, the ultimate goal is to survive.
Currently, in my opinion, it is terrorism. Defeating terrorists overseas by killing them and breaking their will.
A subset of repelling terrorism in the United States is closing our borders to illegal aliens and/or "undocumented immigrnats."
If we don't make America safe first, all other issues are moot.
I'm an ultra Conservative Second Amendment RKBA arms guy. I hate spending.
But... if our cities are blown up, millions killed, then my personal, more immediate concerns regarding guns and spending become meaningless in the total scheme.
The pro-lifers' beliefs become meaningless if there are no living mothers alive to bear children.
Just my $.02.
