Advertisements in Superbowl - Snickers commercial

Last evening, as I watched the Superbowl with my nine year old son, I became extremely annoyed at the MARS Corporation and their advertisement for Snickers which showed two guys locking lips. I can't even fathom why somebody thought that this would be a good advertisement for that particular product and why they chose to air it during this event, especially when they knew children would be watching. If their aim was to draw controversy in the hopes of increasing sales, then I sincerely hope they missed their mark. I hope that, instead, they lose sales because of their idiocy.

I called in and registered my strong disapproval this morning at 1-908-852-1000. (If you call, when you get the phone tree, just press "0")

Our family will not be buying MARS products ... Products that MARS makes/distributes: M&M'S, SNICKERS, MARS bars, Milky Way, Skittles, and TWIX.

No sane person actually believes that Mars was promoting the gay agenda with that commercial.

Who said any of the Perpetually-Offended® were sane?

Warner Brothers has been promoting the homosexual agenda for decades. I bet the folks that created the Teletubbies watched Looney Toons growing up; and we just know how the 'Tubbies promote homosexuality.

So go rent Brokeback Mountain for your kids, already.

What a stinging retort!

If you hadn't already mentioned that you had kids, I'd have guessed you're currently in junior high school. I guess people mature at different rates.

It was rampant in all the characters. I think we should dig up Mel Blanc and Friz Freeling and protest them.

My family and I actually thought it was the funniest ad of the evening. Guy #2 is so overcome by the thought of eating Snickers that he tries to snag one out of Guy #1's mouth. They were both disgusted by the outcome.

I thought Billy Joel's Anthem was the most tasteful I've seen in years. He wore a simple suit, sat at the piano, and played and sang as written.

Prince rocked. The man is a multi-instrumentalist genius who braved the elements to put on the show. Heck, nowhere else will you hear Prince, Creedence, Hendrix, and Foo Fighters all referenced in the same show.

Oh, and Prince is most definitely straight. He "discovered" and named Carmen Electra, Apollyon (sp?), and a number of other "starlets" in the eighties. Hopefully he's cleaned up his act by now.
