The Blandwagon Rides to Hell; on a Road Paved With “Good” Intentions
The Minority Report ^ | 5 February 2007 | .cnI redruM

Democratic Candidate John Edwards would be a nonsensical statement, in any leading industrial nation, with a functional public school system. It’s a good thing for him that Playstation Johnnie decided to make his run for the roses here, in the United States.

He has proposed a plan to give us all health care for Christmas; free of charge. Provided, of course, you’re not one of The Rich. For them, he sees no choice but to raise their taxes. I mean aw shucks, what’s a poor man of the people supposed to do if he wants to buy $90-$120 Billion Of health care a year?

For the nonce, he defines the sobriquet “The Rich” to anyone earning over $200,000 a year. Presumably, that’s just an initial estimate. He’ll just repeal Mean, Old W’s "Taxcuts for The Demonic Rich™". He may have “adjust” or “reevaluate” this issue when this brilliant program of his becomes perpetually self-sustaining the way Albania’s pyramid schemes did.

He also seems deeply perturbed at how brokerage houses are behaving. "We should have brokerage houses report the capital gains that people are incurring because we're losing billions and billions of dollars in tax revenue," Edwards said.

Of course the last time I invested cleverly enough to earn a capital gain, I paid a wee bit more to the IRS than Playstation Johnnie used to pay in Medicare Taxes for his law firm. Just think, John Edwards could have bought us all a big, huge basket of health care instead of this.

I can only wonder if he was attempting irony, as he whipped the crowd into a frenzy of myopic and stupid class warfare. "Finally we need to do a much better job of collecting the taxes that are already owed," he said.

So what happens to businesses which aren’t smart and terrific enough to become S-Corporations; with the S standing for “Sleazy Tax Dodge?”

He said, "We ask employers to play a bigger role, which means they either have to have coverage or they have to buy into what we're calling health markets."

This, of course, would prove totally unnecessary if scumbags like Playstation Johnnie were paying their Medicare taxes at all. But this is what John Edwards, Pat Buchanan and even the Late Huey Long wanted to hide behind the curtain.

All that rhetoric about “Every man a king, but no one wears a crown” is nothing but global warming juice. Like Pat Buchanan’s stock portfolio of outsourcing corporations or John Edwards’ sleazy tax dodges, all of populism is hollow and empty at the core. It’s telling the rubes what they want to hear, sucking their wallets dry like P.T. Barnum.

It’s a lazy man’s way to political dominance. Populism is what Lou Dobbs does for a living instead of legitimate, challenging investigative journalism. John Edwards’ dad may have toiled in a satanic mill, but the politics of John Edwards suggest that he agrees with Huey Long on one other topic. "Hard work is damn near as overrated as monogamy."

Sock-Puppet Johnnie, this guy is so sleazy. He HATES the American people. He hides it behind his cute-mask. If he ever really did get elected, it would make the Carter Administration look halcyon in comparison.

These people don't hate America. What they do hate is people having the ability to make lives for themselves that do not revolve around the government being their nanny. Since they feel that they are nanny and their "intentions" are to take care of you since you are a freaking moron and cannot do for yourself.

People like John Kerry, John Edwards and the rest of the left should start by giving all of their assets to the state and work in congress for $7.25 an hour. We will even toss in an apartment and some government cheese.
