A revival of the "Fairness Doctrine" would go down as one of the most useless pieces of legislation ever passed in this country. With streaming internet and satellite radio making serious inroads in supplanting traditional radio broadcasting as dominant forms of media, any attempt to overtly regulate the airwaves through new FCC rules will basically hasten the demise of the AM and FM radio bands.

Unfortunately, satellite radio will bite the dust with AM and FM as far as conservative talk radio is concerned. The "Fairness Doctrine" the Democrats are proposing is going to put them out of business too - or at least turn them into non-controversial sports and music radio. Shortwave included also unless it originates from some other country. The Dems are no different than Hugo. They will stand for NO competition.

Don't forget the Internet rules that McCain and others want to put in place.

The goal is to shut down any avenues of dissent.
