"I don't believe Conservatism has been defeated. Conservatism works every time it is tried. Unfortunately, with few exceptions it hasn't been tried very much lately."
You're on the money.
"Witness" is easily one of the ten most important books of the 20th Century and it was the first book to really show the American people how anti-American the liberals were. IIRC, it was an incredible inspiration for Ronald Reagan and other founders of conservativism.
We, the members of the New Republican Party, believe that the preservation and enhancement of the values that strengthen and protect individual freedom, family life, communities and neighborhoods and the liberty of our beloved nation should be at the heart of any legislative or political program presented to the American people."
~~~ Ronald Reagan, Speech to the 1977 CPAC Convention: "The New Republican Party"
A revival of the "Fairness Doctrine" would go down as one of the most useless pieces of legislation ever passed in this country. With streaming internet and satellite radio making serious inroads in supplanting traditional radio broadcasting as dominant forms of media, any attempt to overtly regulate the airwaves through new FCC rules will basically hasten the demise of the AM and FM radio bands.
What are valid news sourses?
Dear Jim Robinson,
"Would you accept a gay agenda/NARAL supporting abortionist gun-grabber as your party's savior against Hillary Clinton even if it means we abandon the pro-life, pro-family, pro-freedom of religion and pro-gun planks from the party's platform?"
No, I won't.
"Is conservatism dead in the Republican Party?"
Maybe.
"Is the conservative movement dead in America?"
It may be waning right now, but I don't think it's dead.
"Is God dead to Americans?"
Unfortunately, it seems like that way even with many so-called conservatives.
We just have to keep the faith.
woo! A fan club!
Maybe that will balance out the unnamed RINO lovers who hate me! :)
We are battling the children of the '60s that have no qualms about lying and cheating to get their goals. The problem we have it that we try to be ethical.
I have long believed that if a majority of the people believe (and behave as if they believe) in God, then this country will be blesses. Alas, I think that we are close to 50/50 right now.
Therefore, is our goal conservatism or religion?
It should also give conservatives hope for the future.
Imagine how bleak the picture looked in the 50s. Communism was taking over half of the planet and infiltrating the US government at the highest levels. Our leaders were too naive, or spineless, to do anything about it.
Yet we did overcome.
It's worth noting that the Republican Party has never been as conservative as it was back in those dark days of 1993-94. Getting tossed out on their @sses may be the best thing that ever happens to them.
He's A RINO. WHY VOTE FOR A RINO, when you can get the real thing - a real democrat who's not afraid to say s/he is a democrat? Then, when they screw up, at least the blame will go to the demcrats!
No. The Republican party did that for them!
What we are seeing is that once again the MSM is trying to set the terms of the debate, and once again, setting up conservatism to be sidelined as they present us with two false choices - the false choice of Hillary or Obama for the Demoncrats and the false choice of an abortion-loving RINO or other non-conservative for the Republicans.
Wait and see as the competition grows fiercer for the GOP - the MSM will do their best to sow confusion and will spread outright lies about the conservative candidates in order to help the "moderate" RINOs.
That would be Mr. doodle's wish.
We just aren't as quick on feet with responses or information - so we root you on!!
Except for Joe McCarthy and Richard Nixon both of whom had their lives destroyed for supporting freedom.
"Yes. Blame W, Delay, Hastert, and Frist."
George Bush, Tom Delay, Denny Hastert, and Bill Frist are good people! They were/are willing to volunteer their services to go and serve their country as best they knew how.
Imagine going into that liberal hellhole and working everyday knowing that no matter what you do that day, the press and the democrats are going to misrepresent your efforts and maglign your charactor.
And then, after all that we have a horde of people on our team willing to throw them overboard for whatever reasons a person comes up with to now hate them.
No wonder we have a hard time coming up with good conservative candidates. Who the hell needs that kind of abuse.
Maybe some of the more critical ones on this site need to throw their hats into the ring and take the hits for awhile.
As for me, I will continue to support those who are willing to take the slings and arrows and move the conservative agenda forward.
RKing this isn't aimed at you, just needed to rant a bit.
If Rudy will realize he can't impose NY values on the rest of the country and by that I mean don't grab guns or make abortion easier type issues, he could be OK. As to Judicial appointments, Earl Warren was by Eisenhouer, Stevens by Ford, and Souter by Bush the elder. You really can't gaurantee results in Judicial appointments. The Judges are free to rule as they think best. What you can demand is that a GOP nominee agree to appoint judges of the non activist variety knowing full well any Democrat will put forward the most rotten Bolshevik they can find.
Those listed in the tagline have all had articles posted on FR several times that were way too outlandish and fantastic. They go far beyond the mainstream media, far beyond simply telling one side of the story or adding biased opinions in with facts and otherwise skewing the articles via diction. They fabricate stuff. That, combined with the fact that they are not held accountable to be accurate (largely due to their small circulation), does not make them valid news sources.
