Giuliani Filing Doesn't Say "Republican," Campaign Says Its No Mistake

New York, NY (AHN) - Former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani may have ran the Big Apple as a Republican, but in his official papers as part of his possible presidential run, the section for the candidate's political party was left blank.

When confronted about the omission by a newspaper, a lawyer for the campaign says it was the team's "judgment that we didn't have to fill in that box," leading some to speculate that Giuliani may be considering leaving the GOP and running as an Independent.

Giuliani spokeswoman Katie Levinson dismisses such rumors, saying, "The mayor continues to be a proud member of the Republican Party, and we are extremely encouraged by the response from Republicans across the country to his potential run for president."

Also, upon further questioning by newspaper Newsday, the campaign says it fixed the omission, and has listed the former Mayor as a Republican.

However, according to the paper, that form couldn't be found on the Federal Election Commission Web site.

I am not in the Rudy camp but could be persuaded if he makes a few changes to vote for him in the primaries. If Rudy bolted from the party then politically he would be dead to me.

And I am not against Duncan Hunter, I would vote for him in the primaries in a NY minute but am worried about his chances against Hillary. I am waiting until the debates start in the primaries to gage how well he does under intense pressure. So far I like what I see and agree almost 100% on his stances. He would definitely be the man to take the mantle of the Reagan Legacy into the future. I am worried about his chances, If he continues to Improve I may very well become a Hunter man my self. I hate all this infighting and Attacking of fellow republicans when what we should be doing is Attacking Hillary. We republicans should have 3 simple criteria for our candidate ;

1. Be able to beat any Democrat
2. Be able to honestly carry the Reagan Mantle into the future
3. Have a plan and the resolve and leadership necessary to win the GWOT.

Hunter has 2 and 3 and needs to be further studied about number one.

Point #1 would require Republicans sticking together for a change.

Giuliani wants a direct shot at the presidency, and who can blame him? He will have invested millions in the nomination run, only to lose it.

I applaud his leaving the party. Why? Rudy will hopefully take all the RINOs from the Republican party with him. Good riddence to bad rubbish.

He will simply split the democrat vote. That's good news. I hope Duncan Hunter gets the nomination that Giuliani covets so much.

"Maybe I missed something, but where does it say the campaign said it's "no mistake?""

"When confronted about the omission by a newspaper, a lawyer for the campaign says it was the team's "judgment that we didn't have to fill in that box,"

"It seems like the campaign said exactly the opposite, by filing another corrected version."

"However, according to the paper, that form couldn't be found on the Federal Election Commission Web site."

"Exactly! McCain is tanking now so Guiliani is in better shape politically. I think the Republican nomination is practically his for the asking."

God were in bad shape if we cant do better then GooLiani
or McPain.

I am glad to be away from the US at this time.
I see 4 to 6 years of leftist rule that may destroy the US.

Yes it does. I am not saying we needn't debate the merits of a particular candidate but this circular firing squad is going to do a lot of damage. We need unity in the party now more then anytime in recent history.

Cool. Now the broken glass Republicans who came after me because I said I wouldn't vote for Guliani can turn their venom on Guliani himself.

"He will simply split the democrat vote. That's good news."

Nothing splits the Rat vote except the few greens and Naderites getting a combined 1%.

If he runs Ind. He would claim to be conservative except pro-abortion. He would fool enough voters to give Hildabeast the win with 43% of the vote.

I fail to see how the contrast between a strong, charismatic leader who understands that the war against Islamic fascism is the most critical issue of our time and a shrill, unlikeable woman who is using the war as a political football would help Hillary Clinton.

I thought it would be McCain who would split the race.

If true, say hello to President Hillary.

People are engaging in some wishful thinking. Rudy divides us, not them.

If you need evidence, type in the keyword "GIULIANI", pick any random thread and read it.

I agree - if he goes independent - it would only split the liberal voters. The conservatives would have more of a consensus (that's assuming the Republican candidate would be a conservative & not a RINO like McPain-in-the-A$$).

On the other hand, if he were to run as a Democrat he would be almost guaranteed the Presidency.
