A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest! We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I received this in my email June 10th, 2006 - the author is unknown. I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

Lol about the Long Funny Legs on the Kildeer; it's Such a Uniquely Nifty Design by our King! I've been Looking Out at Another Lovely Creation of our Lord that Arose a Few Minutes Ago; a Full Moon. I'll just Never Tire of Studying that Intriguing "Face" that our Master Designed into its Surface. All the Things our Savior Made are just So Facinating; I Found the Prettiest Sea Shell on the Internet Recently and Ordered it, and Keep it Sitting as a Centerpiece on my Dinet Set, and Talk about Pretty! Our Powerful, Loving, and Gracious God is a God of the Most Marvellous Wonders!

I love the Full Moon, too, Kitty Mittens. And the stars! Even though I live in the city, I try to stand in an area where there is less street lighting and I can see quite a lot in the sky.
The Holy Spirit often arranges it that I can get a breathtaking view of the Full Moon. I'll be walking along, thinking of getting home from work, look up and there it is. Often, I have just taken a different route and it's the perfect one for viewing.
I saw a moon halo one night last week:

glad you are safe.. there have been a lot of problem areas for weather lately..
I am so thankful I am not commuting to work each day. That always was a mess in the cities I lived /worked in.. normally bad & when an accident , like the crane you mentioned, occurs.. well, just turn off the car & pull out your book to read.

great full moon pix~!
For about 5 years EACH full moon I would put together a hike/bike full moon outing. Varied how many attended from 3 or 4 up to 20 or more..
We would have an outing, length depending on weather/temp/precipitation.. and then to Farinacci's for Pizza & adult beverages.
I still go out now & then but don't plan big doings. Maybe alone or maybe one or two friends. Now it is normally hiking as I have the dogs..
Thanks for neat pix to trigger some nice memories.. the moon is out there somewhere buried in the snow clouds the past few days

I remember camping under a Full Moon along the Snake River in Idaho once. Also, a Full Moon midnight hike in Monument Valley....

That's a Lovely Pic! I See Halo's Around the Moon Here Occasionally, and what a Treat for the Eyes they are!
Last Night, the Stars were Beautiful and Bright, Even though they were Competing with the Moon in Casting their Light. The Area in which I Live hasn't been Developed a Lot Yet, so there is Minimal Light Polution, which just Makes for Very Beautiful Night Skies.
From Flowers, to Wildlife, to Seashells, to a Night Sky, our Master of Grace has His Wonderful Glory on Display.

A Unifying Wall
READ: Nehemiah 4:10-18
So we built the wall, . . . for the people had a mind to work. Nehemiah 4:6
Walls divide. Thats the reason theyre built. The Great Wall of China was built to keep back marauding tribes. That remarkable line of defense once snaked for 4,000 miles across Asia, and much of it still stands. In contrast, the Berlin Wall kept people in instead of out. Its destruction in 1989 brought people together in a joyous celebration.
Centuries ago, the reconstruction of another wall served to bring people together. God had told Nehemiah to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. It was essential for protection but had been demolished during the Babylonian invasion. But the enemies of the Jews opposed the reconstruction project and looked for ways to sabotage their efforts (Neh. 4:7-8). While half the men worked, the others stood guard to protect them.
In addition to providing protection, this wall was a demonstration of teamwork and unity (Neh. 3). All the team members brought their talents and skills, blending them together to accomplish far more than they could have achieved as individuals.
It should be that way in the church today. Our talents are gifts from God to be used for building His kingdom. We work better when we work together.
God builds His church with different stones
And makes each one belong;
All shapes and sizes fit in place
To make the structure strong. Sper
Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.

Lord, We thank You for those who are serving in our armed forces. Each day they are making brave sacrifices so that our country can remain strong and free. Keep them safe under the shelter of Your wings. And Lord, for their families back homewhose loving support enables our armed forces, to do all that they are called on to dowe ask that You comfort them and give them Your peace...the peace that passes all understanding. Amen

Your Graphics are So Lovely! I Pray All Finest FRiends had a Good Day!
I've been Blessed to Attend a New Church of Late, and the Sermon there Today was Sure a Wonderful One, about how we should Always Lean Upon our Lord, and Rest Entirely in Him and His Love. A Little 7 Year Old Boy Named Matthew Asked our King into his Heart, and Declared that he Wants to be Baptized. What a Blessing! I've Thought about that Off and On throughout the Day, and am So Very Grateful our Lord Allowed me to Behold that Blessing and Gift!
Have a Restful Night, All Finest FRiends.
