My thoughts also. Since Rudy was afraid to run against Hillary in the last election, I don't see him getting the nomination.

This does it.

'Tough' Rudy can't even make his mind up if...

  1. He is even running for POTUS .. and
  2. Can't decide if he's really republican
Freaking wonderful!

This PROVES he's nothing but a vacillating, wishy-washy, smarmy politician. And definitely NOT what the USA needs, let alone the GOP.

And I'm sorry (not) but this should cut it here on FR - any pro Rudy threads should be considered Democrat Spam and pulled pdq..

Sheesh, it was bad enough 'arguing' over his liberalism, now we find 'St Rudy' can't even say he's even a Republican! Well b*llsh*t on that.

(I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike him more than I did. HA - I just found I CAN. He's more disgusting than Hitlery.)

"Not to the rest of us."

Good.

Don't vote for him.

Good luck.

He's not listed as a Republican in the FEC database for his Presidential Exploratory Committee filing either:

                                                                        Candidate
Com. ID Committee Name City St Party Des Type State Office

C00430512 RUDY GIULIANI PRESIDENTIAL EXPLORAT NEW YORK NY P P 00 President

You can look at Duncan Hunter's filing there too. You'll see that he declares himself a Republican on his FEC FORM 1 and FEC FORM 2.

Brownback filed as Republican on his FEC FORM 1 and FEC FORM 2.

Even Mitt Romney, despite his less than sterling Republican record, got it right and filed as a Republican on his FEC FORM 1 and FEC FORM 2.

Surprisingly, McCain filed as a Republican on his FEC FORM 1 and FEC FORM 2 too.

Rudy did not.

I know because I checked.

Dear Spiff,

That's really bizarre.

I don't understand it.

From the Newsday article:

Giuliani's campaign confirmed that leaving off the Republican designation wasn't a typo. It was the campaign's "judgment that we didn't have to fill in that box," said a campaign lawyer.

Just like Giuliani's judgement that he doesn't have to agree with any of the Republican Party Platform to be a Republican candidate.

Dear Spiff,

I saw that. That's part of what makes so little sense.

Then there's this in the article:

"The lawyer said an update filed Wednesday lists him as a Republican, though that form couldn't be found on the Federal Election Commission Web site."

Is this form allegedly filed Wednesday the second form that you cited in your post?

Thanks,

FEC FORM 1 is the form that must be filed with the FEC to organize a political candidate committee. That's what the Giuliani campaign has filed. FEC FORM 2 is the filing where the candidate formally registers his candidacy with the FEC. Giuliani has not filed one.

Dear Spiff,

What form is it that's mentioned in the Newsday article as being filed this past Wednesday? Any idea?

Thanks,

This is hilarious. The Rudybots tell us that if he wins the primary we have to be loyal to the party and vote for this clown...who won't even commit to running as a Republican when he files his paperwork.

It would appear as if a Rudy/McCain ticket is positioning itself for a third party run.

Probably an amended version of the first form they filed already. It won't replace the first form on the FEC site, it will just be listed there in addition. The fact that Giuliani first filed for his run for President without specifying a party will still remain and anyone will be able to go look it up.

Dear Spiff,

"Probably an amended version of the first form they filed already."

I don't know. That would be even stranger, considering that the campaign said it wasn't an oversight of some sort.

"I didn't declare as a Republican before I declared as a Republican." ??

"Dear RichardW,

"He's just playing it close to the vest."

I understand playing close to the vest, but NOT DECLARING YOUR PARTY?

I think that's a step or two too far. It certainly reinforces my own negative view of Mr. Giuliani.

sitetest"

He's under no obligation to offer up any advantage to any of his competitors. He's doing the smart thing. As I said somewhere, let the others pound each other and then he can come riding to the rescue without all of the mud that he would otherwise have.

Dude -- when the guy who is "still the only candidate who will beat the Psycho Whore" isn't even willing to acknowlege that he's a freaking Republican, then you've gotta admit that we have a bit of a problem here.

A freaking Republican? Your comment is beneath you. I didn't know you harbored so much personal animosity against Rudy. I think the problem here, AC, is your unwillingness to acknowledge that Rudy might very well be your next REPUBLICAN president, with or without your vote.

Here is something we can both laugh about:

Hunter said he wouldn’t need to raise that kind of money because “most of that money goes to pay for consultants that help them look like they are conservative and I am conservative already."

I'm thinking of a tagline... how about this:

In this day and age, you don't need money to run for the presidency as long as you are already conservative.

Why would Rudy Giuliani deliberately leave his party affiliation blank on this FEC form?

In this day and age, you don't need money to run for the presidency as long as you are already conservative.

LOL. I do get a kick out of that whenever I read it.

I don't know, but a man as smart as Rudy wouldn't do such a foolish thing on purpose. It doesn't make any sense.

I do get a kick out of that whenever I read it.

I know, it's funny.

Yet that's exactly what seems to have happened here, based on the comments from his spokesman quoted in this article.
