Are you overtired?
Can you name another major city mayor who has filed a lawsuit against gun makers and who has had his people confiscate more guns than GIULIANI.
Rudy has no respect for the Constitution.
Thanks for the link.
JulieAnnie won't get my vote - ever.
The rush to embrace JulieAnnie is exposing the more liberal kinds of the Party. I vote "continue on."
Narses - 2

"Big-city politics. Rudy won't do this nationally."
Thanks!
:)
LOVE THE PIC!... a little fun doesn' hurt :)
Narses,
Terrific stuff... Keep bringing it out or it will be ignored completely... And this IS IMPORTANT to social-conservatives.
Thanks!
Clicking on that made me smile! That is wonderful - please use it on all Rudy posts! EXCELLENT!
I'm glad you think that way. I love having discussions with intelligent, reasoned individuals even if don't I agree with them, as opposed to discussions with the emotional-non-substance posters. :-)
What, an invitation to a gay party?
How about posting something relevant:
I dont like abortion, Giuliani said in South Carolinas The State newspaper last November 21. I dont think abortion is a good thing. I think we ought to find some alternative to abortion, and that there ought to be as few as possible. link
Also, look at the facts on abortion during Rudy's tenure as Mayor of NYC. Abortions decreased not increased, that's a fact.
According to the state Office of Vital Statistics, total abortions performed in New York City between 1993 (just before Giuliani arrived) and 2001 (as he departed) fell from 103,997 to 86,466 a 16.86 percent decrease. This upended a 10.32 percent increase over the course of the eight years before Giuliani, with 1985 witnessing 94,270 abortions. link
Ronald Reagan was pro-choice when he was the governor of CA, and he signed one of most liberal pro-abortion bills at the time. He later changed his views on abortion.
There is no question that Rudy isn't a social conservative and he has never denied it. That doesn't mean he can't do the right thing in favor of conservatism.
Rudy also said, "I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, that it should remain that way, it should remain that way inviolate, and everything should be done to make sure that that's the case," link
So I have a question for all those anti-Rudys:
Can you cite any Giuliani initiative that advanced or promoted abortion during Rudy's tenure as Mayor of NYC?
Everyone out there should be asking this question.
Just a note of caution though, since the question has been already posed to New York State Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long, and he has already replied I dont remember, and I dont think so. He added: I never remember seeing him [Rudy] promote the issue, to my knowledge. link
However, Freepers probably know more than the New York State Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long about it, so they might have the relevant facts. We don't need emotionally charged verbiage though, but just the facts.
Rudy enjoys 81% of support among Republicans:
Mayor Giuliani shows an 81% favorable rating among Republicans and only 10% with an unfavorable opinion.Why is that? Everyone knows about Rudy's social liberal tendencies, yet he still manages to earn strong support among the GOP and beyond the base, as you can see in the poll. Why?According to the Battleground poll, Mayor Giuliani also has surprisingly high favorability ratings beyond the base:
* 70% of independents are favorable,
* 70% of 35-44 year olds,
* 74% of married women,
* 73% of households married with children,
* 52% of minority votersThe Mayor also enjoys strong approval among white evangelical Christians (76%) and self-described conservative Republicans (82%). link
Rudy is strong in other conservative issues, like:
* Fighting crime
*Cutting taxes
* Fiscal responsibility
*Welfare Reform
* Education
* Quality of life
* Protecting children
That's his record, look it up. link
I agree however, as I posted previously, that Rudy needs to make clear that he is against partial birth abortion (this is a must) and though he is pro-choice he would appoint judges in the mold of Alito and Scalia as he has previously said. He also needs to emphasize that he would not go against the pro-life, pro-family cause, and that he would veto federal funding for embryonic steam-cell research.
But spamming Rudy threads with invitations to gay events and disinformation is counterproductive to your cause. All it does is get the anti-Rudys angrier. Some of them look like they are ready to explode, lol, but it doesn't gain support for their cause. On the contrary, it advances the pro-Rudy side, especially if the bulling of others alienates people on the fence.
Great points. I love how you did your homework and don't rely on hyperbole, overstatement, and hysterics like some anti-Rudy folks do.
Just the facts! ;-)
That's what I do, and I wish others would the same, but hey... nobody's perfect, lol, just kidding!!!
;-)
I know you have good intentions, and I know your heart is in the right place, but that doesn't mean you are right when you implied that Rudy can't change for the better.
I'm going to watch a movie.
G'night.
"There is no question that he is a moderate ..."
Wrong. He is no moderate. He is a hard left liberal on abortion. He embraces and praises Sanger and NARAL. Ditto Ginsburg. His track record SCREAMS liberal. Sorry. No way. No how.
Rudy is strong in other conservative issues, like:
* Protecting children
Wrong. Abortion KILLS children.
