Fox News ^ | 1-31-06 | Bill O'Reilly

Posted on 02/01/2007 8:40:57 AM PST by TitansAFC

Ann Coulter analyzes GOP Presidential hopefuls:

---Rudy Giuliani:

"I Think He's The Only Republican Who Can't Beat Hillary."

"I don't see him winning the Primary."

"If you can't get MY vote as a Republican against Hillary....."

---John McCain:

"Not a Conservative, but a patriot."

"A genuine war hero, unlike John Kerry."

"His weaknesses are half of his positions."

---Mitt Romney:

"Red stater in a blue state."

"Has a working knowledge of God."

---Newt Gingrich:

"Absolutely brilliant."

"His closet has certainly been thoroughly investigated already."

"I wish we could bring him in to pinch-hit for all presidential debates."

We have common ground then - this is all the social cons want.

Again, no. Many, many social Cs have a litmus test. Pro-choice, then they won't support you. They don't even want you in the party.

Rudy almost certainly wouldn't take action on abortion. Yet he's labeled a 'Liberal' here.

We agree on 'fiscal' policies. So we should seek out fiscal conservative candidates. Ignore their personal beliefs, except when those are so extreme as to potentially cause disruption.

We're hiring a person to do a job. How they have done past jobs is what I use to gauge them. Rudy has been excellent in the past. Therefore, he would probably be a good Prez.

If social Cs insist on a social C candidate, they're going to have a hard time ever finding themselves in a majority again, in my opinion.

Well, my attempts at reaching common ground with you have obviously failed - I'm truly sorry about that.

I have to run - think about what I wrote. What is most important to you? Why?

Take care.

Would you vote for a pro-choice 'Contract with America' conservative candidate?

I do not believe that ANY candidate can be "Mr. National Security", while at the same time disarming America.

I will not give up my guns regardless of any stupid law changes and I would like to never become a criminal.

We are devolving into a culture of death, I'm not going to deny that. The evidence is all around us. And I have no delusions that this is a pro-life country. We worship convenience and we worship ourselves. That's not changing anytime soon.

But you're stretching it if you really believe Terri Schiavo played any significant role in the 2006 elections. Short attention span nation couldn't even remember why we were in Iraq, let alone the name of that unpleasant looking vegetable girl in Florida who needed to be starved to death two years ago.

The press can't use Tony Snow. He took less money for less TV time and won't sweat for the press. You have to look for him to listen to him - must be doing something RIGHT.

Thanks for the posting. I followed the link and watched the video. She is a pleasure to read, and to watch. O'Reilly asked her about Giuliani, McCain, Gingrich, and Romney. She liked Romney and Gingrich best. They were already my preferred candidates, of those four. She is a very astute individual, and not just because she agrees with me. Her zingers are great - funny, clever, and on the mark.

I got through half this thread before it became the same old thing: Pro-Rudy vs Anti-Rudy.

For the Pro-Rudy crowd: Explain how he can win in the primaries, when the Republican primary voters are overwhelmingly religious and anti-abortion.

For the Anti-Rudy crowd: Explain why you think President Hiliary will be better for the country than President Rudy.

Rudy's father dies, at a rather young age, from prostate cancer, the same kind of cancer that Rudy had. There was nothing in the least "suspicious" or false about his bout with prostate cancer.

When caught early, prostate cancer is one of THE most "curable" cancers there is. When ignored/left untreated, it depends upon the age of the man, the family history, and whether or not the cancer cells have escaped the wall of the prostate, how deadly it is.

Without a family history of prostate cancer, in one's 50s, 5 out of every 10 men will get prostate cancer, in one's 60s, 6 out of 10, in one's 70s, 7 out of every 10 men, in one's 80s, 8 out of every 10 men will get it and so on.

It took Newt and the GOPers and polls and Dickie Morris, on the THIRD TRY, to get Clinton to sign on to welfare reform.

As much as we all appreciate Newt and TCWA, it didn't stop Clinton from doing an awful lot of terrible things through EOs, many of which are illegal to overturn; sadly.

Barry Goldwater was massively dismissed and it is REAGAN CONSERVATISM, that the movement should be named. Reagan jettisoned much of Barry's rhetoric and talking points.
