Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is the favourite Republican United States presidential contender for voters in the Garden State, according to a poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. 48 per cent of respondents in New Jersey would vote for Giuliani in a head-to-head contest against Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
In other match-ups, Rodham Clinton holds a one-point edge over Arizona senator John McCain, and a 24-point advantage over former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. McCain leads former North Carolina senator John Edwards by six points, and Illinois senator Barack Obama by three points.
In 2004, Democratic nominee John Kerry carried New Jerseys 15 electoral votes, with 53 per cent of the vote. No Republican has won the Garden State since George H. Bush in 1988.
Incumbent George W. Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The next United States presidential election is scheduled for November 2008.

He's saying building don't have evacuation plans above the GROUND FLOOR. That is just silly.
All city codes require evacuation plans and periodic drills for large buildings.
Did abortions magically go down?
Did out of wedlock births go down?
How about "family values"? Did they suddenly go back to where they had once been, decades before?
I wasn't saying that Reagan did nothing, in regard to his legacy. I was responding to YOUR post, which had absolutely nothing at all to do with bringing down the USSR, etc.!
Reagan had three, THREE, goals and none of them had to do with changing American "culture" or "family values".
That table is incorrect.
There WERE plans and they succeeded.
It's all hot air anyway...
Nobody is in jail for treason or leaking secrets during war... and nobody has the gonads to say anything.
Actually it is 'fake but accurate', with no links or attribution. A non starter that I just ignore.
"If the terrorists who set off a bomb in the underground garage put everyone abouve ground at risk, why was there no plan for the second through 100+ floors?
Dumb. Like I said... NO PLAN, NO LEADERSHIP..."
CAN YOU READ?
EVERYONE below the impact floors got out.
There was NO WAY for those above to get out.
UNDERSTAND?
RUDY was HEROIC that day along with thousands of others who risked their lives for others.
Keep making a fool of yourself pal.
Great. :-)
No, they did not. Hundreds died that did not need to.

I didn't think they would elect Bill Clinton the first time in 1992 and definitely didn't think they would re-elect him in 1996 until the GOP nominated Dole. Then I didn't think that Kerry would get so many votes either or Gore.
Their fraud machine has been at it for years and that is what concerns me the most. We have to have a candidate that can get so many more votes that fraud won't hurt us.
I don't trust the American public because the MSM has dumbed it down in a lot of cases. I would have bet that George Allen would not have been defeated by Webb who Nancy Reagan told to stop using President Reagan's name. I never gave it a thought he would lose.
We have a Dem who won reelection to State Auditor and he is before a Grand Jury pending indictment and people knew it when they voted for him.
I have little faith in the American Indy voters who we have to have as Ms. Clinton is reinvented and gets the nomination via caucus if they have to since that is what they did for Gore. I don't think we have a lot of candidates with enough spine to stand up to her and the media will be her lapdog if she gets the nomination. In a debate, the questions will favor her and it will take a strong Republican to stand up and get the message across. I remember in 1984 when Pres Reagan did poorly in the first debate and the media was writing him off but in the last debate he scored a knockout. We are going to need a knockout every time IMHO.
For the most part, I think a lot of women are dumb voters no offense to Freeper women but some of the things I have heard women voters say at high school sporting events makes me cringe on why they support a candidate makes me wonder. Band parent women are worse.
At least I am not the only one having a hard time coming up with names.
ONLY PEOPLE ABOVE THE IMPACT LINE.
The stairs were sliced through. They could not get out.
Why do you not understand this? People cannot get down when there is not a stairway. The building was well over 100 stories. The planes hit ... fore everwhere. No way out. fire rises. The people above the IPMACT line did not survive.
Almost everyone below IMPACT did.
Whatrver you say, but from all the polls you could fool me.
I'm probably a great deal older than you are....I was talking about what Times Square and 42nd. Street were like in the 1960s, thinking that it would never go back to being "nice", as it had been, when my grandmother was a young woman! LOL
You're lying.
How do you get down with NO STAIRS, NO WALLS?
If Hillary is the nominee, who do you think she will pick as a running mate? Wouldn't she look south?
Do you know where it is incorrect? I actually like Guiliani and even read his book...."Leadership". I hope he will really come out and let us know exactly where he stands on these important issues.
Believe me, should he get the Republican nomination, we would be insane not to elect him over a Democrat.
My Senator Inhofe has the longest knife in the pack. He actually campaigned for Pres Bush in the primary to help stop McCain!
