Though not subject to pollutants of human habitation, Mars appears to be undergoing global warming, with new data suggesting the planet is possibly emerging from an ice age.

According to a report in Space.com, NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter has spotted seasonal changes, such as the advance and retreat of polar ice, but it also is gathering information pointing to long-term trends.

William Feldman of the Los Alamos National Laboratory tells the site the current climate conditions, including too much frozen water at low-latitude regions, suggests something is out of equilibrium on Mars.

"One explanation could be that Mars is just coming out of an ice age," Feldman told Space.com. "In some low-latitude areas, the ice has already dissipated. In others, that process is slower and hasn't reached an equilibrium yet. Those areas are like the patches of snow you sometimes see persisting in protected spots long after the last snowfall of the winter."

According to the report, frozen water makes up as much as 10 percent of the top three feet of surface material in some regions close to the equator. Dust deposits may be covering and insulating the lingering ice, Feldman said.

Feldman is the scientist in charge of an Odyssey instrument that assesses water content indirectly through measurements of neutron emissions.

"Odyssey is giving us indications of recent global climate change on Mars," Jeffrey Plaut, project scientist for the mission at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is quoted as saying.

According to the report, other data from Odyssey is helping scientists figure out what is going on climatologically on the planet. The orbiter has been surveying the planet for nearly a full Martian year.

WHY WAS THIS VITAL INFORMATION TOTALLY IGNORED BY THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA? If global warming is so important, why is a crucial pice of evidence being totally supressed?

Finally: Notice the scam before it starts (again): WHen asked to produce evidence of MAN-made global warming, the hysteria mongers will point to evidence (shaky at best) of global warming of UNKNOWN origin. They will intentionally confuse the two subjects, hoping you are dumb (like members of the news media). Secondarily, hysteria mongers will claim that "measurements" of temperature or carbon dioxide over the last 600,000 years show this or that. Trouble is: WHO exactly was taking these measurements 600,000 years ago? Heck, who was measuring atmospheric CO2 levels more than 150 years ago? No one! The hysteria mongers have to rely upon guesses, speculation, hunches, feelings in the pit of their stomach, tea leaves, and fortune tellers to say what CO2 levels were more than 150 years ago. Trapped gas pockets for example CANNOT accurately measure conditions at any time in the past. There is no gas in the universe that can be 100% trapped. Fill a balloon with helium and watch what happens over a few days' period. The helium will "weep" out through the balloon membrane in only a few days. You think a gas pocket would remain unchnaged over thousands of years? Stop pulling my leg!

Is it a COINCIDENCE that at least 4 planetary bodies are all warming up at the same time? I don't think so. The cause of any global warming observed is a little thing I like to call THE SUN. Given the shaky house of cards that extremists have constructed to try to say taht man is causing global warming, the more obvious and overwhelming evidence that the entire solar system is heating up points to one source: Increased energy from the sun during the solar sunspot cycle. Researchers say that the sun is burning at its hottest at any time in the last 1000 years. Others claim (without providing any source for the rumor) that satellites are not detecting any change in solar output. However, don't forget that planetary bodies with atmospheres absorb energy across the entire electromagnetic spectrum: X-Rays, microwave, ultraviolet, infrared. Perhaps a satellite is not detecting a slight change -- and only a very slight change would be enough to accumulate in a planet and produce a slight warming of the planetary body) because it is not designed to measure the electromagnetic wavelengths in which the increase in solar energy is occurring. For the non-scientists, this could be like a dog whistle which is audible to canines, but not to humans.

ALSO remember that all of the other 3 planetary bodies that are warming at the same time are much farther away from the sun than the earth. Solar energy is about TWICE as powerful at the Earth's distance as at Mars. So if an increase in solar energy is enough to melt the polar ice caps on Mars, remember that that same solar increase is TWICE as powerful on the Earth. (not even counting that the Earth, being bigger, catches more of the sun.) Pluto -- whose atmosphere has increased in pressure THREE TIMES over in the last 14 years from increased temperature despite MOVING AWAY from the sun during that time -- is about 31.5 times farther away. That means that the Sun's power at the Earth is around 992 TIMES GREATER at the Earth's distance than at Pluto. A solar increase is powerful enough to TRIPLE the atmospheric pressure on Pluto, yet nearly 1000 timees STRONGER at the Earth's distance.

Also notice the scam before it begins. There is NO evidence that man is causing global warming. None. Zero. The "evidence" that any global warming is occurring at all, rather than normal variations in weather which normally swings wildly back and forth, is shaky enough. There is NONE of man-made causes.

However, hysteria mongers will substitute evidence that the earth is warming and pretend that that proves that MAN is causing global warming. That is a scam. They are simply hoping that you are dumb and won't notice the difference.

Furthermore, hysteria mongers will make claims about so-called "measurements" of CO2 and temperature over the last 100,000 years. BUT WHOM exactly, pray tell, was taking these measurements 100,000 years ago? No one was measuring atmospheric CO2 content before 150 years ago, if that.

So when people talk about whether CO2 has gone up in the atmosphere THEY HAVE NO IDEA what they are talking about. They are using "proxies" for measuring these things, and guesses, speculations, hunches, feelings in their stomach, tea leaves, and fortune tellers. (Modern scientists have degenerated into simply psychics.)

Gas pockets for example will not remain in their original state for more than a few years. Try it: Fill a balloon with helium. Within a few days the helium will have diffused through the skin of the balloon, and escaped. The once perky helium balloon will fall to the ground. Same with "gas pockets" over hundreds or thousands of years. One of the challenges in creating hydrogen fuel cell vehicles is that no container can restrain hydrogen under pressure. That's what the researchers told me directly by email, when I suggested a way to sell hydrogen canisters in stores like camping stoves. They experts told me that it is difficult to store the hydrogen for any length of time under pressure because the hydrogen SEEPS THROUGH the container wall. And we are told that gas pockets remain exactly as originally deposited for thousands of years? What a crock! And then there are micro-organisms which consume and exhale gases. Gas deposits in ice would originally be close to the surface where light would penetrate and PHOTOSYNTHESIS WOULD OCCUR with algae, consuming CO2.
