I didn't read any wavering in that letter...which is good, it seems like ALL of the GOP Congresspeople go along with the President up to a POINT..then they start talking about benchmarks and oversight..and resolutions..blah, blah.

He is absolutely correct that it would be disasterous should we cut and run. Even the VP of Iraq warned of this on December 14th in Washington. There are eight Arab nations in favor of the surge, the Saudis among them. In fact, Prince Turki Al-Faisal said that it was a good thing that we are in Iraq. He did so in a question/answer period after a speech in Los Angeles.
Only a idiot (and there are alot of them) could disagree with the surge. It is similar to turning down an increase in the number of police in an area where gang violence had increased. Duh.

Inhofe was warning of the Chinese IRBM buildup across the Strait from Taiwan when the rest of the Senate was dodging constitutional responsibility for impeachment.
It's the treason, stupid--Jim Inhofe cuts to the bone of national security through the appeasement baloney every time.
Having him as a U.S. senator is the gold standard, national treasure.

Well...alright! I have written to both Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts (Kansas Senators), and have not received a letter in response as yet. I will post when I do. I'm certainly not happy with Brownback and he now knows it. I'm reasonably sure that Pat Roberts will back the plan for victory. I will not accept defeat! I will fight as hard as I can.

Although I agree that Inhofe is one of the best in the Senate, I wish that spine had been on display when the Senate leadership was discussing spiking the Clinton impeachment. Unfortunately, he didn't raise any objection. For me, that will always be a black mark on an otherwise exemplary record.
