Excerpt -
NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and two other prominent Democrats have failed to disclose they are officers of family charities, in violation of a law requiring members of Congress to report non-profit leadership roles, USA Today reported in its Monday editions. Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, the fourth-ranking House Democrat, and Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana also did not report they serve as family foundation directors, according to financial disclosure reports examined by USA TODAY.
All three foundations are funded and controlled by the lawmakers and their spouses, and do not solicit donations from outside sources.

I am no fan of Ms. Pelosi's politics, but this appears to me to be a case of pass enough laws and everyone's a lawbreaker.
This appears to me to be nitpicking: I myself certainly wouldn't have guessed that having a family foundation would also be considered a "non-profit leadership role."

The most interesting part of the USA Today article suggests that Pelosi's filing of a false report could be prosecuted as a felony. It's only a felony if the Bush Justice Department prosecutes, and prosecutions are pretty much reserved for Republicans like Scooter Libby.

What's most interesting about these kinds of articles is that they are, in fact, a way for the MSM to appear to be non-partisan--this LOOKS like USA Today is all over the Dems, just as they were the Reps.
Then you get to the last paragraph...
They might as well have someone saying "Nothing to see here, move along." It's a one-day story that Chris Matthews will chuckle over, and that's all.

It depends on whether the meaning of ethical is ethical. Is.

if ya gotta get a receipt, it isn't charity - it's trade because you use the receipt to get something in return.

Her biggest family charity is the viuneyards employing hordes of illegal invaders.
Pelosi looks like she belongs in a padded cell somewhere and sounds like it too.

The dims still think the people are stupid. And, apparently they're right.
To: HAL9000
When dims do this it is "simply an oversight" but when Republicans do it, it's a federal crime.

Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said Friday the speaker will amend her reports. He said it "was an oversight" that she had not listed her position dating back to 1992 An oversight for the last for the last 15 YEARS??
Ummmmm .. weren't these dems all running around 2 years ago amending their reports when they were yelling about corruption??

"prosecuted as a felony"
I thought they had to be out of office before criminal charges could be brought.
