I'm angry. I'm angry at the 'antiwar' protesters who heaped abuse on our troops. And I'm angry at the people who couldn't be bothered to stand up for our troops yesterday.
Tens of thousands of anti-American leftists and their dupes marched on our nation's capital calling for America's defeat in the war on terror in Iraq.
Only about forty people could be bothered to turn out in support of America's victory in Iraq. Among those forty was a civilian POW held by the North Vietnamese communists and several Iraq war veterans--including wounded warriors who left the hospital to stand up for their brothers in arms on the home front.
Why did former POW Mike Benge and Iraq vet Joshua Sparling only find a few dozen people willing to stand with them? Why, as the anti-American left is heading toward repeating their victory in Vietnam, are so many people sitting on their asses and doing nothing to stop them?
Why, when Joshua Sparling was spat on, cursed at and threatened by 'peace marchers', were there so few people there to defend his honor?
Why was Jane Fonda allowed to desecrate the Navy Memorial and only face token opposition?
Why did Mike Benge see thousands more people showing up to cheer Jane Fonda than there were to denounce her?
Those who were there to support these patriots will be posting their observations and photos on this thread. I've said my piece.
My pleasure! It was a vere educational experience, that's for sure!
You sound like a very pessimistic person. Did you vote this past November, or just say it was a lost cause because the MSM said so and stayed home.
This protest march should be a wake up call!!
[Mr] T
"I had other things to do that day."
That's the problem, Dirtboy. Those that claim to stand with the troops and America's best interests put more importance in the "other things". But what is more important than standing up for the troops, the country, and freedom? Certainly not laundry, a movie (even with a hot date), or a latte. The anti-war, anti-Americans find their agenda so important that everything gets put aside for one day, or a few hours, every week. Saturday's march was an event, whereas they stage rallies in cities across the country EVERY week! I, like Kristinn and his stalwart band of supporters, counter the Lefties EVERY week! We have done so for years, and we have other things too. Our numbers have dwindled, but our spirit remains committed to the purpose we pledged to.
You can go to Walter Reed or Olney and participate. Or start your own rally. It is not too late. And when the Lefties march again, and they will, put the "other things" aside.
Ping, I know Kristinn; Rightous anger.
I agree entirely. Guilty as charged. I used to get out to protest. Have gotten out once over the last couple of years. Need to do more. The pinkos get out.
I blame you for this.
You knew what the left was capable of, and you put this man, and others in the line of fire. For what? To counter a mind set such as these demonstrators? Personal recognition??
Well failed the former, and you got some as far as I'm concerned on the latter...
Enosh, we've had plenty of those, were you at any of them?
The words "conservative" and "complacent" have much more in common than the fact that they start with the letter 'C'.
It is about time the American people woke the hell up and quit blaming everything on President Bush and expecting him to handle every dang detail of wars...at home and abroad!
When the communists manage to facilitate a Vietnam redux we won't have to worry about money, TV or beer!
300 buses from 40 states...they are motivated.
Disk surgery soon....(sigh)...
Because I was up here in Watertown New York, celebrating the fact that my husband was finally home from Afghanistan. And, holding the hands of my fellow Army spouses whose husbands have been extended 6 more months. And, working overtime so I can rack up some comp time at work, so when my son goes back to Iraq with the Marines (for the third time) I maybe able to get down to Camp Lejeune and see him off. That's why.
huh?
How do you put volunteers anywhere?
And just what about Kristinn's presence allows or promotes that behaviour?
Does THEIR presence mean WE can assault them because we disagree?
I watched Vietnam protests and riots on TV news as a kid, and I watched how my older cousins were treated by the radical left back then. I was too young to do anything then. I'm almost too old to do anything now - but until we get some help out on the streets, I'm not going to just stand by and do nothing.
Vietnam II coming to TVs in your home - unless you do something to stop it now.
In-freaking-credible.
Thank you all so much for being there.
Motivated or manipulated?
These kids were in it for the free ride. It's a joke.
I have not seen one on campus demonstration in the news.
Oh, so you DID show up?
Which one?
How may times?
How many did you organize?
How many did you help?
