I'm angry. I'm angry at the 'antiwar' protesters who heaped abuse on our troops. And I'm angry at the people who couldn't be bothered to stand up for our troops yesterday.
Tens of thousands of anti-American leftists and their dupes marched on our nation's capital calling for America's defeat in the war on terror in Iraq.
Only about forty people could be bothered to turn out in support of America's victory in Iraq. Among those forty was a civilian POW held by the North Vietnamese communists and several Iraq war veterans--including wounded warriors who left the hospital to stand up for their brothers in arms on the home front.
Why did former POW Mike Benge and Iraq vet Joshua Sparling only find a few dozen people willing to stand with them? Why, as the anti-American left is heading toward repeating their victory in Vietnam, are so many people sitting on their asses and doing nothing to stop them?
Why, when Joshua Sparling was spat on, cursed at and threatened by 'peace marchers', were there so few people there to defend his honor?
Why was Jane Fonda allowed to desecrate the Navy Memorial and only face token opposition?
Why did Mike Benge see thousands more people showing up to cheer Jane Fonda than there were to denounce her?
Those who were there to support these patriots will be posting their observations and photos on this thread. I've said my piece.

Your right Trooprally. I know alot of conservatives who fit that description. After this weekend...NEVER AGAIN!!
Joshua Sparling was just on Fox & Friends to talk about the rally
Then at the end of the interview he got down on his knee and he asked his girlfriend to marry him
Woo Hoo!
I saw! How wonderful!! God Bless them both!
He told what happened at the rally....he told how he was treated, or mistreated....
..lots of people know now, kristinn....
..Sparling did a very articulate, clear job in the telling.
Did you arrange this, kristinn?
It was great.
And guess what....after he finished...(with his girlfriend sitting by him, and who had been by his side through this past year)...
..he proposed to her right there on F & F....and she accepted.
IT WAS GREAT!!!!
I was about to turn the channel till they mentioned Josh would be on
I'm so glad I stuck around .. that is such great news
He dad was being interviewed also
Very good news indeed. :)
I got all choked up went he got on his knee. "let me take care of you for the rest of your life". sniff......
In Spring 2006, his father described how Pfc Sparling was insulted at an airport while in a wheelchair.
The security guard said, You are no different than any other passenger with no boarding pass - no go. My son started to cry uncontrollably and told the guard to go to hell. Another lady spoke up and said, Thats what you get for fighting in a war we have no business in. Madder and very emotional I asked, Cant you remember 9-11? She responded that was just our excuse to be in Iraq when we should not be there and we deserved whatever we got. That is when my son really lost it. Three WWII vets were coming off flights into DC, gave my son a hug, and stood up to the lady and security guard. They stayed with my son until he flew out.
Thanks for the heads up on the AP photo. I emailed apimages@ap.org
Remember this?

Are you willing to pay my travel expenses and reimburse me for missing work? If you can't afford to do that and/or aren't willing to, then don't be so quick to judge.
Jeez, since not enough people voted to keep Republicans in control of at least one House, the troops and us all are paying for it now.
With that I agree.
In fact I do remember!
As the old phrase goes, "Elections have consequences".
I totally understand about not exposing kids to the "moonbats". I THINK I was thinking about "pro troop" rallies when I wrote about bringing the kids along, but probably didn't express that clearly. CFRiverRat, I hope your little one wasn't badly frightened by the behavior she saw; I would have come over to encourage her but didn't spot you folks. (I was doing rear guard duty over the coats and othe supplies.) She's a sweetheart and a stalwart trooper. Please thank her for me for supporting the troops.
You've addressed your response to the TOTALLY wrong person. Kristinn didn't post the comment which talked about spitting on vets being covered by the 1st amendment. Please review the first page and please consider apologizing to a stalwart supporter of our troops (Kristinn).
Great news, this kid is more than just a fighter, like they say....character is destiny.
*Off to email my son the good news*
