I'm angry. I'm angry at the 'antiwar' protesters who heaped abuse on our troops. And I'm angry at the people who couldn't be bothered to stand up for our troops yesterday.
Tens of thousands of anti-American leftists and their dupes marched on our nation's capital calling for America's defeat in the war on terror in Iraq.
Only about forty people could be bothered to turn out in support of America's victory in Iraq. Among those forty was a civilian POW held by the North Vietnamese communists and several Iraq war veterans--including wounded warriors who left the hospital to stand up for their brothers in arms on the home front.
Why did former POW Mike Benge and Iraq vet Joshua Sparling only find a few dozen people willing to stand with them? Why, as the anti-American left is heading toward repeating their victory in Vietnam, are so many people sitting on their asses and doing nothing to stop them?
Why, when Joshua Sparling was spat on, cursed at and threatened by 'peace marchers', were there so few people there to defend his honor?
Why was Jane Fonda allowed to desecrate the Navy Memorial and only face token opposition?
Why did Mike Benge see thousands more people showing up to cheer Jane Fonda than there were to denounce her?
Those who were there to support these patriots will be posting their observations and photos on this thread. I've said my piece.
Your homepage says you're gone, so ..... ? You're still posting....?
I respect our wounded troops and I believe they are mature adults who can make their own choices as to what they do or do not do. I saw a photo of Joshua Sparling at the event, relaxed and smiling. It did not look like anyone had forced him to be there.
Personally, it has been way too long since I was part of a troop rally and I plan to remedy that this year, although I do support them other ways, mainly with mail.
Would you like to share your troop support with the rest of us?
Thanks to all of you that went out to counter!
I was under the weather so I couldn't go to Hollywood. There will be another time though.
At least NE has Lieberman........and Tom Brady........
To support Conservatism and Christianity.
With an emphasis on Christianity, I hope. My Catholic brothers may disagree, but I love them all nonetheless.
You haven't been around here long enough to realize how smart FReepers are.
N00b, shut up.
oh no need to thank me Mo!! And I DO understand. THe distance is a huge factor! And a lot of us work in jobs that do not give us weekends off!
And I, for one love and appreciate all you do!!! That was a great effigy of Hadji Jane! Thanks!!!
400 people should have been at the Mall the other day. Not 40. Don't make this harder than it is.
agreed
Alot of the Lefties that marched were the college kids from the '60s and '70s. Gullible college kids are the easiest to indoctrinate. That and little kids, which is why there are "progessive" and "peace" preschool and beyond sprouting up across the country. Beware!
I was there...and I don't believe a single word the enemedia says.
Uh, excuse me, but I've done a great deal. Obviously, many other FReepers have, too. The value of my opinion depends on whether it's true, not on what I've done. But don't try to say I'm an armchair general or a typewriter hawk. I'm a warrior, and whether you're a warrior or not, you're talking like a wuss, and I'm calling you on it. Whatever you've done, you should not be making excuses for the many lazy and timid "conservatives" who hide behind their "jobs" and their "families" and do nothing.
I think you are low on that number, because there are a lot of patriots around that understand the stakes here. I wish I understood the low turn out. If I were in maryland or Virginia, I would have been there.
I am not trying to make this harder dammit.........just trying to see what can be done from a long way away.
People shouldn't be expected to travel 100-plus miles. But there are certainly enough serious conservatives -- hell, serious patriots -- in metro-area DC to mount a large demonstration.
Marry WCW with ANSWER, MoveOn.org, Code Pink, Women in Black etc and you have a deadly (not just dangerous) movement. People need to educate themselves about the agenda of these organizations and who funds them. ANSWER sells the "World Workers Party" newspapers at their events, and you can bet they were selling them their, in addition to all the other communist buttons, t-shirts, tote bags, etc.
If you demonstrate Christian behavior, then you are a Christian.
Your behavior demonstrates otherwise.
Those in liberal areas need to understand two things: One, your life won't end if liberal assholes in your community, or even at work, look down on you. Nor will your job end in most cases. Two, men are dying in Iraq. The least we can do is make our own lives a little less comfortable.

you're welcome to your personal opinions. (opinions are like bellybuttons. everyone has one & they frequently stink.)
