"I think you could live for a very long time without eating bread." I find that butterly ridiculous.
Bah! He may rise to the occasion but I think he's spreading it on a bit thick. At yeast that's what I think.

So then, for example, you'd allow him to use something like cocaine recreational if it were his dying wish?Of course.

D'oh! Forgot to turn my Italians off.
Get it? "D'oh"?

And if he died from his experimentation with cocaine you'd allow him what would your reaction be?

I think it is great. They were both consenting adults, and harmed no one. I hope the guy has many opportunities in the future.
I am with you. If he wanted to go out and do this on his own. His action is between him and his God (also the state since it is a crime).
Now, do you think the clergy should become pimps for the terminally ill?
Basically, this is the clergy role here. I think that if the clergy had compassion for this man and a belief in eternal life, they should have concerned themselves with feeding this man's spirit and not his flesh.

I wish I thought of his screen name first.
I'm pissed I didn't post this article before he did.

I take it you're not a Christian, huh?Oh not at all.
However, I was Catholic for 20 years. I'm familiar enough with the confessional.

I find that butterly ridiculous.
I am always accused of loafing arouund, but the staff of life is not bread, its beer.
So in Germany some communions use beer as the requisite material.Killing two birds with one stone.

Women do sometimes have sex with men out of pity, but pity is a distorted basis for sexual love. Sex is attachment behavior, at best a kind of exchange of selves ("I am yours, you are mine"); and without attachment, it's ultimately sad and disappointing.
I have certainly lived long enough to see that sex without commitment mimicks, and yet insidiously undermines, what both people need: the experience of well and truly loving someone, and being loved. A kiss becomes where the soul meets the lips. Intercourse becomes a leaving of yourself and a confluence with the beloved.
The rubbing of empty bodies is not this. Not even close.

I'm not sure what disgusts me more, the story itself or the response of some of the posters.
Sex outside of marriage is wrong. Period. I don't care what church was involved, I am horrified by the lack of concern for this poor boy's soul.
What an ugly story.

We'll have to disagree here...humans are more than an uncontrollable animal...well, all of us but democrats (jk)
___
I just don't see having sex as the act of an uncontrollable animal. A lonely, fat, ugly, disabled, awkward or whatever, insert the affliction here needing and wanting sex is totally understandable to me. I happen to be an irresistable stud ;) but I know all men pretty much think the same, see my FOOD, MONEY, SEX, SLEEP theory earlier in the thread.
Did you ever hear the phrase "He couldn't get laid in a whorehouse with a fistfull of fifties" Don't you see guys all the time that fit that description? If a nerd wants to have sex with a hot looking "pro" that he'll never be able to bed in real life, who am I to look down on him.
Pretty much all men fantasize about having sex with hot women, only about 92.6% of the time for me, but your mileage may vary.

And if he died from his experimentation with cocaine you'd allow him what would your reaction be?The same as it would be if he drank or smoked himself to death with perfectly legal products:
A sad shake of my head and an increased respect for Personal Responsibility.

However, I was Catholic for 20 years. I'm familiar enough with the confessional. LOL...big can o'worms there. Let it suffice to say that simply confessing is insufficient for forgiveness...it's missing the little bit called repentance.
If I punched you in the nose and said "sorry" but was clearly insincere would you forgive me anyway? God knows when someone is sincere and when they are not. If one is not sincere then it's a waste of time to offer a faux apology to Him.

It's a lot like when we get to hear how "lucky" a teenage boy is to be molested by one of his teachers (but peculiarly these same people seldom feel that a teenage girl is lucky under the same circumstances).

Listen up Mrs. Don-O. We women JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE MALE URGE. We are animals...the male animal's job is to procreate. That's it...it's not to form long lasting monogamous relationships. That's our job as women. This guy wanted to experience this natural urge before he dies. The ultimate feminization of the world is to make men feel guilty for feeling this urge.
